Hello,

I am in need of immediate assistance and would greatly appreciate some guidance.  Please understand up front that I don't say that in rude or demanding way.  It's just that my phone is VERY sluggish and I leave for a trip on Monday so I gotta act fast.

Currently, I have the following:

Razr Maxx HD (rooted)

Version: 4.1.1

Build#:  9.8.1Q_39

My cell hacking knowledge is extremely limited but I am pretty good at following directions.  Essentially, I'm looking for guidance to get my phone performing well and maintain access to the hotspot hack which I currently have.

I have sifted through some of the stickies but I'm just unsure what to do, especially since I'm already rooted?  I don't know if I'm to wipe everything and start over or another alternative.

Due to the fact that I'm asking for help in a rushed sort of way, I will gladly donate for assistance.

If you would, please reply or PM me immediately if you can help.

Thank you.

Are you unlocked ?....... Have custom recovery?...... Or locked ...... Have safestrap?.......with either one you should first try to boot into recovery, wipe cache and dalvik cache...... If you dont have a custom recovery, and since you are rooted, you can always clear cache and dalvik manually via ADB or a root explorer..........

That appears to be rooting and the entitlement hack..... For WiFi tethering etc......... Nothing to do with being locked or unlocked...:) Anyway ..... You can boot into recovery to see what you have ....and also check to see if you are unlocked........ Power off, then hold all 3 buttons for s couple seconds..... When the menu comes up, use volume down to highlight recovery then volume up to select it....... (You can clear cache from stock recovery as well).....

I realize you know this John, but if they dont unlock, then they will have little choices for ROMs. I vote that they Unlock :) or sell the phone to someone that wants to unlock it.

Why doesn't someone point him to Matt's 1.21 utility. That would do everything he needs.
My tapatalk is screwy again I can't see the last posts in case someone has already answered this.

Search the forum for Matt's 1.21 utility.
It's easy to use and simple to understand.

Hey thanks for all the replies. I began working with John and didn't log back in here. My trip came and went and I was back to work immediately. Sorry, didn't mean to leave the thread hanging. John, looking forward to getting with you on Greenify and apparently... unlocking! :) It might be a couple of weeks if that's alright.
