our end of it though was it was being done with wifi tethering, they told her if it keeps getting used they would change it and i think her plan might be on a holdover month to month kinda thing, either way i still like verizon more than att.

Scare tactic. They can't change her plan unless her contract is over. It's illegal.

Ok, I don't want to scare anyone, but here is my usage to date, and for the record, no throttling whatsoever. I can still be on the internet and watch Netflix on multiple machines, with no lag.
