CM11 is not compatible with SS.  As far as I know there is no 4.4 out right that is compatible with SS.  Once the 4.4 OTA is released, we should have many stock AND aftermarket 4.4 ROMs that are compatible with SS.

So should I not upgrade to 4.4 when its released?

Will it be possible to unlock the bootloader when it comes out?

Will there be anything for rooting? Sorry, I'm a new user to android and I'm just wondering if I should stay with 4.1.2

If you are not currently unlocked you will not be able to. That exploit has been patched and it was reported that there are no other holes to use. I would not plan on root for 4.4 at this point. Just watch for a bit after the update happens before taking it to weigh your choices

That system version is the HD/M series. Since the bootloader was unlocked for those devices, there was very little effort put into safe strap versions of anything beyond that time..

As previously stated, there is no CM11 for the M that is compatible with SS.  As for updating when 4.4 comes out...I would wait for the devs to get hold of it and make a pre-rooted custom ROM.

I have a safestrap specific question. Is there a certain version to use on the Bionic to install CM11 ?  Any advice appreciated

Any SS version 3.60 or higher is recommended for installing KK Roms on the Bionic. Hashcode has his tread updated with the 3.7x version that work as well. Happy modding...

Thanks, and in the meantime I had found the Targa specific SS 3.73 and finally did get CM11 installed on my Bionic. No going back, lol  Thanks again
