Droid Razr HD Maxx powers on in fastboot reason: flash failure

Best Answer RikRong , 26 March 2014 - 04:26 PM

K, so if I just reflash the phone back to factory using the 3 button method at start ups, will that fix it?

I think i'm just going to wait until motorola does an OTA update, I don't want to screw this phone up.

The three button method only simulates a battery pull.  It does not reset your phone to factory.  Like John said, you'll need to flash something minor, like a boot image, or just do a complete re-flash using the House or RSD.

I went through the first part, "Installing recovery using fastboot", and now when I reboot it goes to "Fastboot reason:flash failure". Tried to reboot but it kept going to the same fastboot screen. I've read on this site about reloading a image using fastboot, but i'm not sure which image we're talking about. System version is 9.30.1.xt926.Verizon.en.US Android version 4.1.2 I'm wanting to load a custom rom, but haven't had any luck getting the boot loader unlocked. Any help is greatly appreciated!

As far as unlocking...... I'm sorry my friend but that time has come and past....... As far as the flash failure ..... You will need to get something to flash properly before you can continue .....

Without being unlocked, you cannot flash a custom recovery .....

What I meant was if I go back to the bootloader and do a factory install of the data, will that reset my screw up?

Thanks much for the help.

A simple factory reset probably will not solve it...... Using the house of moto will most likely take care of you ....:):)
