My razrm is unlocked and rooted on 4.4.2. I made a backup with cwm and flashed a ultra circle zip just to see if it works. It doesn't work I found out and my stock circles won't work other said because of this party launcher. It's not on the third party launcher and I froze the moto launcher and tried to restore my backup from cwm and keep getting an error saying data failed to mount. Not sure if I have to redo the entire system or what.

In order for Cwm to work properly, you have to have formatted your data partition at some point after flashing kk, but before your backup so that it is on the f2fs file system.

Well I got it sorted out. Was having a md5 error with my backup and tried like hell to fix it and did find a fix only to find out my backup was corrupted somehow and lost my system when restoring. Still had fastboot so did a fresh install again but went much faster than the first time. Moral of story...... Well there isn't one I just like messing things up.

Well, I just did a little experiment, and there is a moral to this story. ;)  I formatted the data partition, made a backup after formatting, and restored it.  I assume the data format factory restored the phone because I rebooted into setup like a fresh flashed phone.  I had trouble getting SU to take hold, so I tried flashing in recovery.  I still couldn't get root access and I'm not sure why.  Well, I restored and we'll see what happens.  Maybe there wasn't a moral to this story after all. haha

Ya what's up with having to format data? Think I'm gonna just customize with xposed and not mess with recovery until twrp comes to the rescue. You should be able to just side load SU again while in recovery.

I'm not really sure, but I am pretty positive that the format is what took me to a completely stock, new ROM.  I think the SuperSU thing was just a fluke that happened at the same time.  I deleted my SU apps and re-downloaded and everything worked fine.
