Doing the impossible one day at a time.......

[b][color=#FF0000][size=4]
From here I used saferoot to gain root and flashed TWRP 2.7.0 and everything works like a charm. This process (may) will wipe your internal SD so prepare accordingly.....

For those on a locked bootloader – no clue if it works for you, but I have a XT907 with a locked bootloader and decided I wasn’t brave enough to try because I didn’t want the hassle of fixing a bricked phone with a locked bootloader. Try if you dare, but ask yourself if you are comfortable and have the knowledge to fix your phone yourself, because I’m not helping you……

First off, if you are unlocked, you don't need to use an exploit for root. Just flash a custom recovery then the supersu.zip in recovery.

It's a good thing you don't try it on your locked bootloader. Won't work, period

And here is why I don't post often anymore. Thanks for telling me I don't need an exploit when I just mentioned what I did because well, that the way I find easiest. Not like I was the guy putting out Roms for this phone when no one else was, oh wait that was me. Second, you know it won't work because why? You said so? Statements made without proof are utterly meaningless and without value. If on the other hand, you have evidence to offer that works back up your absolute statement it should be included so that your absolute statement has value.

Lastly, your welcome for me sharing something that I spent hours working on.

You can all thank this guy for me being done here. I'llthank him for for all the meaningless words that offered nothing.

Quite frakly I'm riled up now because the idea of someone proclaiming something can't be done because they said so is ludicrous. They said you couldn't downgrade from KK to JB, but guess what YOU CAN!

I don't think this will work on a locked bootloader, which is what I clearly stated, however I don't know if it will work and that is the way it deserves to be framed until proven otherwise. Life lesson here folks - only believe wha can be proven not what others believe to be true, even if spoken with complete confidence. Use your minds to thinks critically for yourselves, otherwise you are just another sheep in the herd......Now that's off my chest I'm done

*I* have experience here and I'm going to weigh in because of your horrid attitude.  You WILL brick downgrading from KK to JB on a locked bootloader.  I know cause I've helped over 50 people in the last couple weeks FIX said problem.  Second, without MODIFYING the FXZ for JB, even unlocked users will not be able to downgrade.  This is why I wrote a tool to create RSD scripts for any FXZ that unlocked users can use to move between versions with ease.  I won't even comment on the root thing.  You claim no one should simply believe what someone else says without proof.  I agree.

Nevrmind, close the thread, I pulled the link since all the mods get so defensive when one of their own gets called out for acting like a know it all then gets called out for being a shlong.

To CMH - can you read or are you just slow?

Has nothing to do with him being a mod.  He simply wasn't wrong and you freaked out like a child throwing a temper tantrum.

Honestly, no one here claimed to know it all and I will be the first to admit that I don't.  Not even close. I do know, as Sam stated, that downgrading on these locked devices won't work anymore. They did away with that ability many updates ago - in in specific to what you were doing, we've been dealing with many of those who tried and bricked since the recent KK update.  Rather than deal with any more of those, I wanted to dispel that notion immediately.

I got nothing but love for the new update and couldn't wait to get rid of 4.1.2. Doing something as simple as tap on a contact and wait what seemed forever was getting old. Don't want boat just delete what you don't want. I would bet in time recovery will get updated and work fine and stock based custom Roms will emerge. And if they don't it won't bother me because my phone got new life and works great.
