So, as many of you know, KitKat became available for the Droid Razr M fairly recently. Months ago, in an attempt to root my phone, I forced it into having to go through the AP fastboot menu every time it turns on. I backed up my root, and went in for the update, but when my phone powered off, I realized APFB would prevent the update from happening. Now, when I try to boot my phone normally, it works in 4.1.2 for about two minutes, before again trying to update and promptly powering off without my consent. Please help. Thanks a lot, guys.

First off, backing up your root will do nothing for maintaining root on 4.4.  So, keep that in mind before you update, you'll lose root access.  If you want to update go here

and you'll be good to go.

Thanks for the reply, man. Sadly, I can't update any software at all, the AP Fastboot Flash Failure menu always pops up before I boot... Usually, it's not a problem because I can just go through the steps and boot normally, but it's preventing updates... Also, now, whenever I turn my phone on, and get it booted to the GUI, it just shuts off and tries to update again. This isn't about rooting or updating anymore, I just want to: A. Allow my phone to boot to the GUI safely. B. Shut off the AP Fastboot Flash Failure alert/menu. Thanks again.

You didn't read anything. You just made assumptions about what you can and can't do. Not going to get your issue solved unless you actually read.

^^^What he said.  You can use the tool I linked and update to 4.4 with zero issues.  You'll be able to keep your data and clear the Fastboot Flash fail.  If you simply want to just clear the flash fail, and you're using SafeStrap, you can just flash boot logo and clear the flash fail.  Like Sam said, read a little bit and you'll be good.
