Here is a post on XDA. I have to run to the hospital so no time to check for bootloader unlock but I did successfully root on stock KK with a locked bootloader.

They aren't ready for me to come there yet so been messing around trying to unlock my bootloader but since I'm new to this I haven't been able to get superuser access to moto-pocalypse.

Checking if it works, but if your in a hurry to possibly brick your phone click the link in the first post and give it a shot yourself.

Motopocalypse works flawless. Just give it SU access and restart your phone.

That's why I posted a link to my thread.  LMAO :)  It works.  Quite nicely.  I laid it all out in a step by step for HD and M.

NP man.  Been working with people on this for a ridiculous amount of hours now trying to get every single HD and M unlocked that we can.  I've tried to make it as drop dead simple as possible no matter what version you're on.

Device is set to unlocked in fastboot status code 3. Thanks. Never really messed with an unlocked phone before.

You're in for a treat.  Grab twrp 2.7.1.0 from the link in my OP and use flashify to flash it.  After that, the world is open to you.  No more root exploits, either.  I have an unlocked root package that can be used or you can flash recovery and flash supersu zip in recovery from now on.

Have tried flashing both twrp and cwm with flashify. After flashing and try to reboot into recovery I sit at the moto loading screen that says dual core technology for a good bit, eventually it reboots itself and just loads kk.

does flashify flash img files or just zip files??

I havent found any zip for TWRP just the img file and that gets flashed via fastboot

fastboot flash recovery whatever_the_recovery_your_flashing_is_named

Wait, check your download on the twrp and/or cwm recoveries.  We saw that someone had a corrupt file the other day and it caused all manner of issues.  Could be a similar issue where the download didn't go well.
