You need to use a modified xml file.  Replace the one in the FXZ with this:

Well, the code in the xml file you referenced above looked identical to the one that comes with the FXZ that sergentmajord provided. Nevertheless, I did as you said, and it worked. You guys amaze me. On behalf of all sportos, motorheads, geeks, sluts, bloods, wasteoids, dweebies, and d**kheads everywhere, I think you're a righteous dude. You too, sargentmajord. Cheers!

I assure you, it wasn't identical.  I removed the oem lines. It was needed for it to work.  In any case, I'm glad you got it working.

I downloaded the file to fix my (AKA ap fastboot failure invalid cdt) and ran it. It says press any key and i pressed entered but it tells me 'cdt.bin' (16kb)...  OKAY [ 0.008s]

Writing 'cdt.bin'...... INFOPreflash validation failure

FAILED (remote:  )

Press any key to continue.

 

What should i do now? Please i need your help. Thank you

u ran it in RSD right? An try the dowoad again it could have been corrupted

make sure ur using a USB 2.0 USB port also if ur battery is dead u can't flash the phone

I just checked my phone battery percentage its at 90percent and using my phone charger's usb cord. I used the last fxz p2d_targa_cdma_targa-user-2.3.4-5.5.1_84_dbn-55-110814-release-keys-verizon-us. idk what to do. i followed your steps and the file to lose my data didn't work either :(

ok well what version is ur bionic? U need to go to about phone if u can even boot the device the FXZs shouldn't fail let alone the last one are u in AP fastboot mode?

ok yeah u can't boot ok open the FXZ an delete all the files that start with "mbm" an then try flashing again
