yes, I saw that one thread about 3 pages in. Btw, maybe its me, however; the search feature doesn't seem to work too well.
Tomorrow I plan on trying to purchase a micro USB cable though in the meanwhile I have cleared the cache and tried the recover features without any luck of getting passed the electronic eye.
The phone is completely stock and no it will not be under Verizon's warranty.
After reading a lot of posts and walls of text it still feels as if something's are taken for granted that the end user, me, knows what the hell "we" are doing. Not the case
I have downloaded the jellybean utility and have the latest Motorola 64 bit driver installed.
- I am wondering does my phone need to be unlocked before I try to reinstall the drivers?
- If reinstalling the drivers doesn't fix the problem what do I do next?
- Do I need to root the phone if I decide to install jellybean?
- Is there a way to pull the photos off the internal memory before doing all this work? This is pretty important to me. I could never quite figure out the $#!+ty filing system on this droid. Most all the photos are on memory card but not all.

I have a XT912 Verizon, CDMA normally though it has GSM capability. It's a global phone
Thanks!
If your phone is stuck on boot, it probably means that the system files are incorrect. You mentioned using the Jellybean Utility? If it is downgrading you, and your bootloader is locked, you likely softbricked your phone and need to get the correct FXZ version and redo it on House of Moto... but here are the answers to your questions!

Installing the drivers themselves will likely not fix anything, as it is not going to alter your device. Follow the instruction for

Do I need to root the phone if I decide to install jellybean?
If you are on the KitKat update, you will need to root and unlock your bootloader before going back to Jellybean.

Use the KEEPDATA script on House of Moto and your data will remain untouched... it will always remain untouched on your SD card unless you explicitly format it.

If this didn't make sense, just say so and someone/myself will attempt to find relevant threads or just write it out for you.
