hold both vol buttons, then power for about 8 seconds. release power button, then quickly press power again for 2 seconds release and you should be at the menu.

vol down, steps you thru the menu, vol up selects so choose recovery and you should be good

I flashed stock 4.4.2, rooted with TR, updated Super Su, unlocked with Motopocolypse, loaded TWRP 2.7.1.0, and all was well. Then is backed-up, wiped 3 times, factory reset, and installed MK44.4-moto_msm8960-140623-RELEASE and gapps kitkat-140619. When I rebooted system it's stuck on the "M" Dual Core screen. It sets for about a minute at a time and goes black for a sec and comes back to the "M". How do I get back to TWRP to restore?

hold both power buttons until it powers off, release and hold again, go to recovery and you should be at twrp?

I had that issue yesterday when flashing cm11. I restored from a backup and it worked fine

Thanks cmh714! That got me to the menu but somehow TWRP didn't have anything to back-up to so I gave up on KK for now and went back to Sams HoM (which rocks also!) to downgrade back to JB and then loaded Nexesque 3.6 which has been working great. This is a truly awesome site full of amazing folks and I'm sooooo grateful I'll never have to deal with VZW/Moto support again! :D

I have a similar problem. I was able to unlock the bootloader and root the phone with the latest findings and re-introduced vulnerability.

I installed CWM 6.0.4 recovery utility and used that to do a nandroid backup. Tried flashing latest 4.4.4 SlimKat and all went well without any errors. Now when I reboot, it loops through M screen to black and back to M just as this poster described. My difference is that I can't get back into recovery to flash another ROM or try again. I checked all MD5's and all were correct before flashing. I can get into fastboot, but am unsure how to get a working bootloader back (assuming that is my problem). Any help on the correct direction so I don't brick the phone is welcome.

hold both vol buttons then press power and hold for 8 seconds, let go of power for one second, press power again for a second and let go, you should be in recovery.

I cant really help you since I dont use CWM or Slimkat for that matter, but it should work I believe.......

I have been able to choose recovery from the boot menu all along. It just never goes into recovery. It shows the M logo and then goes black and loops back to the M logo.

Update: after reflashing CWM 6.0.4.9 I was able to get recovery to come up again. Still not able to flash Slim though. After flashing I get the same M to black to M cycle. In reading some other forums there was a discussion about not being able to flash the latest KK ROM's onto this device because the bootloader won't work right. Still checking into that.
