Nope. You're simply stuck. No root. No wp off. And no way to downgrade.

I want nothing to do with people buying and using stolen unlock codes. What you do is your business but I want nothing going to do with that.

You don't see anything fishy about having to buy an unlock code from "a guy in china"? If those codes were legit and not stolen Motorola property, you would not need to pay someone in another country to get one. I find the ethics of paying for stolen property to be wrong. Others do not share my feelings. I'm not telling you what you should or should not do. I'm simply saying that if you do choose to use a stolen unlock code you buy from some guy on the Internet in China, that you will have to do your own research on how to install custom recovery and root. The information is out there for you to find.

Like I said, I don't care if you do or don't...it will get you unlocked if that's your goal, but, just know that they are selling you a stolen code.  If that doesn't bother you, then have at it.  I just personally have an issue with the whole thing.  You have to decide for yourself if you're ok with it.

As far as DroidRzr is concerned, we do not condone the action and would appreciate that any further talk about going forward with such action not be done on here.  Thanks Samuri for voicing the concern and your position as well.

How is it steeling if it requires your IMEI,its meant for your device.you can't use a code from another phone right ?

It would be a loop hole the same as all "root exploits"

And where do you think the unlock code comes from? Magic? They stole them from motorola. Just because it requires your imei doesn't mean it's legitimate. It wasn't that someone worked out an exploit that generates the unlock code from your imei. They simply stole a database containing them.

You can do a bootloader and you can flash back out of the current version you're in no matter. You can also gain root access running android version 4.4.4

I did it just yesterday using information from www.rootjunky.com

First you need to flash your device back then it'll run you through the steps on how to get past the bootloader and install root.

The only two things that I noticed that I wasn't able to do with the new root on the 4.4.4 version going from the original SU 6-7.2 back to SU 6-7 is that the Adaway apk (ad remover) doesn't work properly even though it still gets the job done, and that the SQL Editor apk for editing the entitlement check to gain free hotspot doesn't  work at all.

I'm currently looking for a sbf flash back to version 4.2.2 so that I can gain these two other features. Other than that though everything else is flawless.

Here's the videos and info on how to do the bootloader and sbf flash for the Droid Maxx, Ultra, Mini, etc.

Enjoy.

You can flash back to another version. And you can do a bootloader change. I just did it with my new xt1080 Droid Maxx yesterday. It'll take you from SU 6-7.2 back to SU 6-7 and show you how to root it with it still using 4.4.4 version. However, my Adaway apk isn't wanting to work properly and also I cant edit the SQL editor for the hotspot. So I'm currently looking for a sbf flash to flash back to version 4.2.2 so these other things will work. But with this video you will get rooted and everything else but those two things (SQL edit for free hotspot and Adaway ad remover (works but doesn't cycle right).

Any new firmware for security update 24.7.3obake maxx and working fastboot to stock ways? Rsd lite wont connect to phone when I go to flash stock firmwareCFCrkeys.zip. Can you flash CFC.releasekeys.zip from platform tools cmd on android studio if you put CFC files in platform tools folder and fastfboot flash each thing? Someway to flash xt1080 droid maxx so its able to root? Nothings worked so far. Any Recovery's(imgs) that work? Best way to fsstboot would be nice! I have firmware zip ready to flash. Thanks again.

Does our droid xt1080 USB cable work or do we need to get another one from Motorola? Sometimes rsdlites been weird with moto drivers installed again. But not ever problems with USB cable. Does our stock cables not work? Droid maxx xt1080 stock locked 4.4.4
