Apparently, I've bricked my memory and put my memory retention part of my brain into a bootloop.

I'm drawing a blank on the basic flashing procedure and the op doesn't have baby steps. Anyone have a link to side-load or install recovery?  Can I just copy the recovery folder (not IMG) and then install from AP fastboot or do I need to RSD? I never got into TWRP and its been a long time since I used CWM (and a different manufacturer). I have already tried tucstwo one-click utility which won't connect to my phone.

I just flashed: KK 4.4.2 (KDA20.62-15.1) using Samuris op{ [FXZ] 4.4.2 183.46.15

I've lost root naturally, but I also have forgot how to update the binaries before installing SU. My XT926 is unlocked and I just re installed drivers to be safe. Using USB 2.0 port with original data cable and battery is fully charged. Just need pointed in the right direction.

Thanks! I just flashed it successfully.  Wow is TWRP pretty much standard for Moto these days?

Yes. Seem to have less problems with it.

Hello,

They finally updated you guys to 4.4.2. The only thing I can say is to have a backup recovery.img ready to fastboot in just in case. It should work since it was built using the Unified source setup.

No screen response on TWRP 2.8.0.0 on rooted and unlocked xt926 running CM11.

Am trying to upgrade from twrp-2.6.1.0-recovery-vanquish to Nobe1976's 2.8.0.0 with limited success. The recovery seems to flash properly and the TWRP 2.8.0.0 legend is shown at the top of the recovery screen. However, the screen does not respond to any inputs. What might I be doing wrong?

Yes, I followed SamuriHL's how to flash custom recovery instructions to the letter. Phone flashes back to 2.6.1.0 without any problem.

I am not very skilled, but I do read and follow directions.

Ideas?

Did you make sure that you are using the one made for the JB Bootloader and not Kit Kat Bootloader. There is a major difference between the 2 and not done right may cause huge issues.

Nobe,

I noticed on 2.8 that I got a black screen that seemed like forever. Eventually I could touch the screen and I would get an unlock to get into TWRP. I don't have that issue with 2.7.1.0. That may be what he is experiencing. I had to go back to 2.7.1.0.

Actually on KK 4.4.2 (missed that in my post), and pretty sure I just installed the KK 2.8.0.0 TWRP.  After initial long time to get screen as Morrisr3nd mentioned I get the TWRP menu. However, it does not respond and when it goes to "lock" will not respond to the "unlock" either.

Would a restore to before trying 2.8 help? Off to work, will get back on this tonight. Thanks in advance for putting up with noob issues!

Well you posted that you are using 2.6.1.0 TWRP which will not work on the Kit Kat update. That is why I guessed that you are on JB update and not Kit Kat...

Thanks for the help. I was confused by it all. The phone said 4.4.2 in version, which is the base for CM11 afaik. Never could get the radio working so am back on JB now. Sure appreciate all the effort you put into making things better. Your TWRP 2.8.0.0 is great!

Anyone have a copy of the stock recovery for the xt926? I backed mine up with flashify, but it seems to be corrupted. I am encrypted, and can't factory reset my phone due to the lack of AOSP kitkat encryption support for twrp 2.8.0.0.

Thanks

I believe using boot.img from the fxz.zip is incorrect. I was successful in obtaining stock recovery by flashing recovery.img using moto fastboot with fxz.zip obtained from
