I have a XT907 that turned itself off the other day and then wouldn't get past the boot logo.  I was  able to use the keys

to get into the FastBoot screen and followed all of the directions from the forums for restoring my phone.  I used RSDLite 6.1.6 and downloaded the correct version of the system for my phone and everything was going swimmingly.  I made sure that the phone had a full charge, etc but my phone went off, the RSD screen didn't show that the flash failed or succeeded and now the phone is off, won't come on, will only show the charging light when I hold the power key and both up and down vol buttons.

With that information, can any one help me?  Or can you ask me the questions that will allow me to supply the information you need to help me?

I spent several hours reading the threads for the XT907 before I attempted anything.

Thanks

Also try just the up volume and the power button at the same time.  That should boot to the bootloader.

I can't boot into the fastboot anymore and the power and volume up key will allow it to charge for a minute or two, but it doesn't go into the bootloader.

I read on one of the threads that someone had a similar problem and once they were able to get the battery charged enough to come on, they were able to re-do the flash.  I just don't know if I'm actually charging it, or what happened.

Anything y'all can give me in the way of help is more than verizon or motorola did.  I spent two hours on the phone with them before I followed the directions on here and they couldn't do anything.

Thanks

You need a factory cable or a team black hat adapter so you can get it charged

I have the factory cable, the one that came with the phone.  Does it need to plug into the wall, or will a car charger work?

Factory cable != OEM cable.

Here is the factory adapter:

Factory cable is not the one that came with the phone.

I do have the OEM cable, the one that came with the phone and says to use for all software upgrades.  I do not, however, have that nifty factory adapter.  If I were not on the road (everyday of my life) I would order one of those today and wait with bated breath to get it.  It sounds like what I need to get the phone charged.

Will the phone charge, with the OEM cable attached to my computer?

If it's not the cable that came with the phone, which cable do I need.  Should I buy the factory style programming cable from team black hat, or just the nifty little adapter and use the cable that came with my phone?

Most get the adaptor. They are pretty quick to ship too.

Adapter ordered...will wait to get home to get it and then fix my phone.

You all have been a great help.  When  I get the adapter, I'm sure I will be back with other questions (hopefully not too redundant) to get my phone working again.  Don't really want to have to buy a phone for full price when I can upgrade in two months.

Thanks

With the team black hat adaptor, be sure not to leave it plugged in for a prolonged period as it is a direct charging device (bypasses the overcharging safety).
