Etymotic makes their Awareness app that does exactly what I want, but I can't use it with a Razr or without their buds or an account. I'm looking for an app or hack that will allow me to use the mic on the phoe while listening to music so that if I'm running or biking I can still hear people/ things around me when needed.

Can't find anything else like it. I would also try to use a plug-in or make tasker do it, but can't find a way to do it.

I tried one called handy hearing. It works, just not quite like I hoped it would.
