Hi.

Unfathomable how bad my phone is behaving on Kitkat. I had high expectations after seeing how the Kitkat update improved my Nexus tablet, but the phone as you all know has been a disaster.

I hope to soon have my phone rooted, unlocked and restored back to Jelly Bean and hope to not bother you all with questions or hiccups. I intend on reading up as much as possible before any action is taken. I'm committed to this project and would like to return my phone to its previous glory.

Being a complete newbie, I recognize that I've got a lot to learn and this forum seems to be the gospel. Thanks in advance to those who have put the effort into the threads to hopefully make this an easy journey and eventually lead me to do things with my phone that I can't even imagine yet.

If you are on the xt907 or xt926 and took the most recent ota update, you won't be doing any of that. If not, there is a thread here for the root and unlock, and a couple for doing the downgrade. Downgrading is a little more complicated than just flashing the old firmware, so be sure to read up on that.

Hey Kaos!

Thanks for your reply. Arrrgh, Matey! Fortunately, I started researching this right when the new update was released, so I knew to not accept it.

I've got a lot of reading to do since I'm one of the sheep that bought this phone and always used it as is. Baaaa!

Any recommended threads to start with, as I am completely new to this? (Was that a stupid question?)
