Motorola XT926 Locked on Boot Screen, Won't Power Off

XT926 Boot Issue

Best Answer SamuriHL , 01 October 2014 - 12:00 PM

It can't write to the phone. We've seen this issue before and there's zero way to fix it.  I hate to say that, but, this is a very ugly problem.  Sorry you went through all that for no solution, but, the phone is basically screwed up at the partition level.  And yours is not the only one like that.  No one's ever fixed one to my knowledge.

Alright guys I got the wire but it does the same thing even with the good wire. I did what the guide told me to do but yet it still has a remote error. What could be stopping it?

Is there some sort of alternate method to install the rom data other than this? What is the ADB for? Or how about an SD card transfer, is that possible? Also the sim card is not in the phone if that makes any difference.

I have also manually ran RSDlite v6.1.6 and used the most recent update it fails on flash partition 1/17.

Try uninstalling the drivers, install the most recent drivers, reboot and plug the phone into a different USB port on the PC while in fastboot.

3.0 USB ports are as bad as not using a Motorola cable

Yes I have those software tools on PC. I have moved it to a known USB 2.0 now and my OS is Windows 7 x64 bit. I have yet to try it under this config, perhaps it was in one of my 2 USB 3.0's. Damn I'll be shocked if that is what it was!! Also I did downgrade the drivers as those are the one another post in this thread said were "better" I can find hte most current again if needed. Trying now....

The drivers I linked you to will work just fine (that's what I use) ..... Yes 3.0 USB ports will kill you when flashing.... Every time..... :)

Moving to a new port produces the same thing, I'll try the newer drivers and see if that makes a difference. I know good and well I have told the FXZ to make a scrip from the downloaded firmware. Created a sub folder called FXZ_ inside a folder I put on the desktop called HouseofMoto (spelled just like that) and in there is a Darwin, Linux, and Windows folders along with the decompressed firmware update. The tool has created some extra bat files which I figure are a normal part of the tools programming. Does this sound right?

Directory structure tree is as follows: Desktop/HouseOfMoto/FXZ_/Darwin etc...

In the folder HouseofMoto the tools files are present followed by the FXZ_ subfolder and other folders. Is this the right formatting for the tool to work properly?

Maybe my etron drivers for my USB 3.0 are interfering, I'm about to throw in the towel on this almost. It's like the phone is just bricked, but I don't understand why!!

The cable that I got from the people who own it is the same one that goes with the Verizon charger. It's the offical one that came with the phone this is the right wire right? It's an unplugable USB end that can be inserted into the charger or pulled out and put in to the PC. He say's that is the only wire that it came with.

If you look at the "a" (computer) end of the cord.... It will have the USB symbol on one side and the Motorola symbol on the other

Alright just wanted to be sure. I do indeed have the official cable then. I think I need a break from it. Perhaps I need to reboot the PC. I'm going to give the project a rest and just do some reading on the topic using the links provided here today. Also I'm going to place the phone on it official charger and let it keep charging to see if that makes a difference.

I will be checking back to the forum later on and see if any other knowledgeable staff or members have left any more thoughts about this.

This can be fixed, I just know it!!

Hello everyone, I'm back at it again today. This time I have a log file to share with you. Perhaps this will help shed some light on the problem. This data was copied from the SWDL file. I was trying to use the RSDFlaser tool and following the guide  for that one. Figured I would give that a try again since the house of moto application has not worked either.

Data log:

As you can see its packed with error's and failures across the board, and it all appears to be an issue with the phone itself. Does anyone understand what this log is saying in more technical terms?

I don't know everything about this process, but it appears that there is a communication issue with the phone and my computer. I am using the motorola branded cable and have followed the instructions in the guide to the best of my ability. Could the remote failure be caused by the motorola drivers. The device shows up as Fastboot VANQUISH S in devices and printers, however the file system does not detect anything so it does not show up in explorer. Which is probably normal since the phone is unable to boot into the operating system.

That is just to ensure the files are set up properly. With the remote error you are getting, the phone and pc are not talking properly. It's either the cable, the fastboot drivers, or the pc hardware, or a dirty usb port on the phone. Do you have another pc you can try?

Thank you for those ideas. I assumed it was a communication issue as well. It does the same thing on either cable, offical one and generic one. Since my PC is only a year old I doubt it is the usb ports, and I have tried several of them. Not the usb 3.0 though, since you guys said those don't work. Other hardware I plug in them works fine, and the phone makes the PC do its "something was connected" noise instantly. Which tells me the system knows something is there but it may not be sure what it is.

I have installed them most recent motorola drivers, yesterday, as well as the motorola device manager. The MDM is lame and all it does is look for updates but says nothing is available. The only thing that could be the culprit is the fastboot drivers. I don't think those were installed or if they were because I did install some kind of AP Fastboot drivers. The 15 seconds thing, can't remember what it was called. I just removed it to, thinking it might be a conflict of intrest. I will try to find the fastboot drivers and install them manually, and see if that makes a different.

One last thing to note, there is a device in device manager called ADB Interface, I know it's part of the phone but what is it, and is it part of the restore process?

Adb does not function in fastboot. If that is showing up when you are connected to the pc and trying to flash, you must not be in fastboot mode or something is wrong.

Open a command prompt in your fastboot directory on your pc. Put the phone in fastboot mode by powering off, hold the vol down and tap and release the pwr button while holding the vol down then release. Connect the usb. In the command prompt type:

Fastboot devices
