You can flash it in stock recovery. That's how I flashed it last night.

So I can't get the install to go thru from the previous leak.

Fails on build.prop blah blah blah.

Guess I will have to use the trusty ol Utility again.

LOL. Builds don't install on top of leaks. :D You have to be on the latest OTA in order to install it.

Matt, is this something you would bake into your utility?

( typed "into your tool" at first............ then I thought better of it............. :P )

Leave his 'tool' alone. :o That was painless to update.

Does anyone confirm that root keeper kept root?

I updated the Super User app and binaries (as well as checked the OTA Root survival option [my issue?]) and backed up root with VooDoo Root Keeper as well and after flashing this, I go to restore root from VooDoo and it says it restored it, but I have NO ROOT???? What gives?

Anyone know a sure fire step by step what you did to keep root?

Did you go back to stock from Matt's Utlity? If so, did you update the Stock OTA? I lost root once and figured this was probably the cause. (i.e. I restarted the process and insured I took the update...... and it worked).

I can confirm that Root Keeper worked just fine with the update. Sorry to say but your only option to regain root is to start over again.

Yeah, I've already accepted that I'll have to start over, just not sure why root wasn't kept, I'll skip the option in Super User and just use Voodoo and see if that works.

Thanks y'all

Yes I kept root after installing update.

Just be sure to temp unroot before installing the latest build.

Seems odd that some theming is absent on this build.

It's always been finicky. Make sure you've updated the binaries to be current before you back it up.

It's not so much missing as they just are themeing less and less because people want a more vanilla experience. I just wish the stock apps had the "dark mode" option like the corporate email does.

so I am going to assume that the soak test has already begun since verizon has already approved the update

Update went perfectly. And, VooDoo kept root (took a re-boot or two, but finally stuck). Very nice update--noticeably faster and smoother. Just hope the battery performs as well as it did on rooted stock ICS...just insane battery management.

Thanks to all involved for this! It is appreciated.

I absolutely agree with this statement.

But getting back to the battery, it is simply a slightly different color than the signal bars and clock..
