How do you like the G3? I'm trying to decide if it's worth upgrading to from my RAZR HD.

Currently, on VZW, I have the unlimited plan, and my RAZR HD has an unlocked bootloader. But, from what I can tell, the G3 can get it's bootloader unlocked as well and it also can be rooted too.

It also has an SD card slot, correct? I believe I read it can handle up to 128gb cards, which is great.

But, to upgrade would then make me lose my unlimited data plan. I could switch to the 3gb plan which would give me 6gb for $30/month, but I definitely would need the SD card otherwise, I'd have to stream most of my music and not having an unlimited plan pretty much forces me to have to continue to use an external SD card.

Just curious. Makes me kind of wish I took the VZW Thanksgiving deal where they were giving the Red 32gb G3 away for free (well, not including the $30 upgrade free so it's not REALLY free).

Not one of my options for VZW. I'm looking at what I have available.

I'm confused. Jayrod is using his n6 on VZW? Moto even offers financing.

He was talking "upgrade" so I assume needing subsidized pricing. I agree though, with Moto financing it's not that bad.

Especially knowing you get to keep your unlimited that way.

Well, they are still giving people going from unlimited the 6gb max plan for $30/month. I never really went over 6gb except maybe a few times in the number of years I've had unlimited data, so I went ahead and got the L3.

Pretty nice phone. Still on stock as I keep reading and researching what is available and what is not.

Yes, you can flash different kernels. The bootloader is not really "unlocked" but they have a way of fooling it (called "bumping" I believe) that allows you to flash different ROMs and kernels that are "bumped".
