Stock build.prop needed for Droid Razr Maxx HD

Best Answer spainter , 11 November 2014 - 07:37 PM

Well Here is the one from my System Pull for the Stock base. I took the liberty and removed the WiFi tether hack from it so this is exactly how you will get it from the OTA...

I don't know why or what the differences was but there was something in the system partition that was creating my problems.  I took the SO's phone that was identical to mine did a keep data flash and was able to load the software on it and it worked.  I reflashed twrp onto mine and did a wipe of all partitions, then reloaded mine, followed Kaos's suggestion and didn't allow updates to take place and was able to get the software loaded on mine. I have no Idea what difference it made but it works.  After I got it working reflashed twrp and did a full backup then let the updates load and re-routed the phone.  Everything now works.  I want to thank all of you for your suggestions and help.

I need to find a stock build.prop for the droid razr maxx hd from a phone that has never been flashed using a fxz file. From new through the OTA's to 4.4.2.183.46.15.  Thanks in advance

Can you extract it from a custom ROM zip?

Custom Rom's I believe modify the build.prop file to add in the extra functions. But it is worth a try

Oh yeah that may be right. Is there a stock Rom zip floating around somewhere ?

Looking for a virgin build.prop that has come thru all the ota's on an android forum is like looking for a virgin mom who didn't adopt...... This seems like an odd request?

I know it may not exist.  But it seems I have run into a problem with a propriatary software that doesn't like to run on anything that has had root or any mods to the system at all.  The FXZ files that have come out are as close as I have been able to get.  But it looks like the one size fits all with the xt-926 and the xt-926m, standard HD and Maxx HD there are some differences in the build.prop and a couple other files.  I may have found a way around some of it, I won't be sure until I do another reflash and try again tomorrow.  Reflashed twice this evening and still got an un-supported device error.  The flash completes correctly with no errors so that part is all good.

So, flashing back using the stock FXZ doesn't work? If not, then IMHO, it's probably not the build.prop. Root modifies the system partition, not the build.prop that I know of.

You are performing a full flash and not allowing any Google backed up apps or settings reinstall?

Well Here is the one from my System Pull for the Stock base. I took the liberty and removed the WiFi tether hack from it so this is exactly how you will get it from the OTA...

Even though you got it fixed, if the system partition was modified, then either it was due to rooting or another app that requires rooting and modifies the system partition. You can't modify system without rooting, so I would look and see what apps you had installed that required root.

Busybox would be something else that could have modified it. Tether hack definitely would have modified it. Or, if you installed the Xposed framework, that also would do it I believe as well as some modules.

When I first tried to install it I was rooted with exposed framework installed along with a few other tweeks.  The first full flash should have put me back to full stock but the software still found a hickup somewhere.  What has me puzzled was the SO's phone was setup identical to mine and a flash with keep data allowed me to load it on hers.  It was the 4th flash on mine with a full wipe with TWRP before mine would load it.  Whats funny also is that once I got it loaded i was able to flash twrp and root again and it still works.
