Installed the new JB update today (loving it), and just was wanting to find out a couple things.

1) Is there any way to make the awesome Motorola circles widget work on the semi-official JB?

2) What about the lockscreen weather widget sort of like how Touchwiz has?

Would really love to get both of these working =)

you can get the circle widgets by installing the razr m launcher and circle widgets + the weather widget

I have these in a zip file. I found directions on XDA confusing. File I used is a zip, and has 4 apk's inside. I just installed apk's as normal. When I tapped "home", I got the usual choices (for installed launchers). I chose "launcher" as default, as I believe that is what this was called. Once selected, I installed circle launcher as i would any other widget. Didnt have to change anything. Very easy. Let me know if this is needed or wanted.....

You're trying to use it with the stock launcher and that won't work. What APK's did you install? Assuming you've installed the 4 apk's you also need to use something like home switcher to switch to the Razr M launcher, then you can install the circles widget.

Is the launcher/etc from the Razr M on Jelly Bean any different from the ICS version? The linked post appears to be the apk's taken from the ICS version.

I got the circles widget working, but I can't get the weather on the lock screen. Is there a step I'm missing for that part?

I have a DROID RAZR MAXX, recently updated to Jelly Bean 4.1.2. Will this work for me unrooted? I prefer not to root my phone and void my warranty, but I would very much like to have these circle widgets installed. If not available unrooted, what are the pros and cons to rooting? Would I still be able to receive updates automatically or would i have to do everything manually after rooting? And how easy is it to "unroot" if needed?

I don't see why you would need root for this. I installed the apk's from the zip file as i would any other application...

Follow this to install on new JB leak:

RAZR M Laucher:

- Copy launcher to system/app
- Set permission to RW-R-R
- Tap on the the file just copied and do a double installation to overwrite system app
- Make a copy of homescreen.apk
- Change the .apk extension to .zip
- Extract using winrar or winzip
- Locate the files 'libnative_renderer.so' & 'libtexture_mem.so' inside the folder 'armeabi' under lib folder
- Copy both files to system\lib folder and overwrite any existing files and set permissions rw r r
- REBOOT
- Install 3d circles and weather in any order

Circle Widget 3D:
- Install as normal app

Weather:
- Install as normal app

Follow these directions and everything will work just fine!

Ok guys i need some help. I deleted the old homescreen and homeconfig apk from system\app and installed the new razr m sht. I made backups on my ext sd of the system apps i deleted but now when i try put them back they wil go in the folder but will not install at all. What step do i need to do to make these old system apps overwrite the razr m stuff or just get back to as close to stock as i can get without fastboot? any help would greatly be appreciated

Move them back to the location you removed them from, set permissions to RW-R-R and tap to install.

Surprised none of the mighty and able Devs have been able to get a true Circle Widget that works without RAZR M Homescreen. I like the Circle Widget very much, but RAZR M Homescreen does not compare to Nova for my purposes.
