I have two identical xt907s, both bought on the same day. One is mine and one is my SO's. When the KK unlock happened, I unlocked mine and hers both. She has always complained about the slowness of her phone, but I figured it was due to the amount of apps she had installed. Once a stable ROM was out, I convinced her to take the plunge and go custom. I flashed TWRP and downloaded flashed CM for her. I noticed while saving her backup that it took a ton longer: again I blamed her amount of data... Until I flashed. It took 10x longer for her device to flash than mine does, and the original boot took WAY longer. The flashing was over a blank slate, all data was wiped (internal storage, data, caches). Her phone on a fresh ROM is a fraction of the speed it should be. Is there anything that causes data slow down? Can it be sped up at all? I'd love to get her phone up and running smooth again!

I'm taking a stab in the darkness here: Maybe format her device's /data partition to f2fs from ext4?

I did that before flashing the new ROM, as it was required to be on f2fs. :/

Possible hardware failure?

I would look into doing a FULL FXZ on the device (house of moto or rsdlite)... Then flash the ROM again..... There could be any number of software related issues (that are not wiped when you flash a rom)..... If that does not fix it, then o would have to agree with soocold and its a possibility you have a hardware failure....

Sounds good, I will do that. Thinking back, the issues did arise after doing the official OTA update, so it's possible it was a bad update? I'll give it a shot this weekend. The good news is that if it is hardware failure, we're eligible for upgrades next month... hello Moto X Pure Edition.  :)

Not necessarily a bad update but a confused driver/kernel all things a FXZ will fix. Do a favor and test the data I/O on stock and ROM after the fxz.
