The leaked update will get an OTA to the official Jellybean. It HAS to.This is a good idea except for when they do release the final build of jb, it is going to be on a jb kernel and NOT on a ics kernel.

I'm not the most knowledgeable person when it comes to linux and exploits (and it's about to show lol) but I was curious about something...
Why wouldn't simply copying files from a rooted JB maxx to say a non-rooted maxx hd that came with JB pre-installed work, or flashing the ics kernel, system.img, preinstall.img, etc... or something along those lines onto the maxx hd?

Loosing root would suck. If i were you I would complain to Verizon and get a replacement. Tell them it reboots everytime you make a call. I did that with Tmobile with my old Mytouch 4g worked like a charmI as have many others, lost root on the JB leak.Whatever the reason, we're all itching to get root back. So lets get it done.
I'm starting a bounty for whoever can get us root on this leak, as it will also benefit us in the way that we can jump back to this kernel and root it using the exploit found when the official OTA rolls around.
I'm putting down $90 for whoever can get a root exploit for the leak.
Any others willing to put down their money?
Pledged:
Bytecode - $90
wacocapretto - $10
johnpaul530 - $10
Total: $110
I will update this post with those pledged.
Lets get root!

if things were that easy the devs on this site would have done it...I'm not the most knowledgeable person when it comes to linux and exploits (and it's about to show lol) but I was curious about something...

If you have one of the new RAZR family released in the last half of of 2012, rerooting after JB update is simple and is outlined in my thread "Successful JB Root for Motorola Users"; however if you have one of the original RAZR family, then you're out of luck until an exploit is found.
My $10 goes in as well.
I am fortunate enough to replace my phone for other problems other than being an idiot and losing my root. But, I know how I felt when I realized the loss of some pretty simple tweaks that root gave me. From my searches, there seems to be some promise out there, we just need to let these brilliant minds know they have an incentive. I throw my $10 in the pot to give everyone their phones back that lost root going to the jellybean leak.

This is the DROID RAZR original forum section...go figure we'd be talking about the Original DROID RAZRIf you have one of the new RAZR family released in the last half of of 2012, rerooting after JB update is simple and is outlined in my thread "Successful JB Root for Motorola Users"; however if you have one of the original RAZR family, then you're out of luck until an exploit is found.

that's twice you have posted in the wrong forum. we all know about jb root for the razr hd and its nothing new as you claim... but this is an og razr forum hence the name droid razr not droid razr hd.
anyway put me down for $10 more $20 total..

Thanks for sharing your infinite wisdom... Considering the forum app I'm using doesn't list whether this is an original RAZR thread or not, I'll dismiss your ignorant comment for what it was... ignorance. Next time you want to attempt to criticize someone, how bout acting like the mature adult you're obviously not and being respectful, instead of condescending.
