This is an unofficial bootstrap recovery for the Droid Razr. It is based off of Koush/CVPCS bootstrap for the Droid Bionic and modified for the Razr.

Flash zips at your own risk! Enjoy! Updated on 2/8/12 to fix backup and restore features as well as adding support for internal and external sd cards.

Steps to use bootstrap:
1. Install the RazrBootstrap.apk
2. Select "Bootstrap Recovery"
3. Superuser will prompt for permissions
4. Select "Reboot Recovery"

When the phone reboots it will boot up into Clockworkmod Recovery.

I feel stuoid here but how do I flash this? I noticed it was an apk file so i am not sure what to do. In the past I have always just pushed a recovery.img file to my xoom for the cwm recovery.

Any help is appreciated! :

Just install the apk..open it. Choose bootstrap recovery first..when it is done it should say sucess..then hit reboot and it will boot u into CWR

sorry for the noob question but to make a nandroid backup,do I need a sd_partition?

For an unlocked phone that would be a good idea, but since the Droid Razr is locked you would be asking for trouble.

If you still have a working phone, delete data in razr bootstrap (only app data) then uninstall and reinstall. Make sure to take your backup and put it on your SD card somewhere. Then after you reinstall it pit it back in clockwork mod/backup.

hi nitroglycerine. as you know ee can backup the partition on our phone using dd command in terminal.

You can check the block partition using root explorer, then go to /dev/block where you can see the symlink of the partition blocks.

This is on my phone (FR european version):

mmcblk1p18 cid
mmcblk1p25 emstorage
mmcblk1p19 kpanic
mmcblk1p17 misc
mmcblk1p7 pds

mmcblk1p24 userdata
mmcblk1p8 utags
mmcblk1p23 webtop

command on terminal (e.g. to backup system partition):
dd if=/dev/block/mmcblk1p20 of=/mnt/sdcard/system.img

replace sdcard to sdcard-ext if the image to be copied on external sdcard

So we can add to recovery or write a software to make this automatic and restore on phone that have this partion broken?
we can copy partition from good phone to write on bad one?

Posting for the first time.

I have successfully flashed the deodexed razr rom, and have been running it for a few days now. I just rebooted into razr recovery with the bootstrap, which i had done a few times already, and while i was in recovery i lost my ability to use the power button to make a menu selection.

My phone is currently stuck in clockworkmod recovery and I am unable to reboot. I have tried the hard reset with the power button and volume. I have also tried to use adb to reboot, which had worked when i got stuck in the moto stock recovery.

Does anyone have an idea as to how I can restore my back\power button, or reboot in some other manner?

I somehow got the problem solved. But it seems like the soft keys can be used in cwm. I didnt expect that. Could. The ability to use them in recovery allow for any more control of this device?

Ooooo I see what you are saying now no you can not boot straight into CWR unless the phone is unlocked or a work around is found using 2nd int. So at this point no.
