Worked Great on my new VZ razr, thanks Nitro!!

-side note... maybe a sim card issue but I'm having lots of data drops, I checked the data manager settings and Network mode settings (cdme/LTE)
Ideas anyone??

Don't take that the wrong way. I know what root is as I have rooted a few different phones for myself, wife, and a couple friends. I am not a complete noon with this, my confidence in doing it this time around has not been all there due to other things going on in my life. I meant no bad things byvsaying it that way and apologize.

No need to apologize for being cautious. Its always good to make you have everything in order first. Whether you are doing something major or minor.
It's a lot better than spending a few hundred dollars on a paperweight :P

Ok i have saw a few different bootstraps, just wondering wich is actually tested and works backup and restore, i have read a few horror stories of ppl backing up ok, then bricking after trying a restore.
I used razrbootstrap and then the zip for cwm on boot. Have couple of backups, is there any verification that a restore works with this method?
Thanks

I have been looking all over for the answer to this question and can't find it. What are the proper steps to remove bootstrap recovery completely off the phone. I am going back to stock unrooted and just want to make sure I do it the right way.

Never mind, I followed instructions found on the DroidX forums and it worked perfectly.

I tried that and now i'm bootlooping! any suggestions?

didn't renamed logwrapper as the instructions say to delete logwrapper, then next line says to rename it.

1. Reroot (If not currently rooted)
2. Get root explorer in the market
3. Uninstall the bootstrap app
4. Go into root explorer to system/bin
5. In top right corner tap r/w
6. Delete the file called hijack
7. Delete logwrapper
8. Rename logwrapper.bin to just logwrapper
9. Reboot and it should be gone.

Yea I was able to get the update. I am not sure if its because I applied for the soak test and got the invite or not. But I have had no issues at all after following these steps. Since I am in on the soak test and have access to the private forums, I can take a look to see if there are any steps you could try. I know they have a thread for this issue.

thanks,

Robert

I take it you read through the thread for "Previously Rooted" then and nothing there worked?

Ok I went through the thread there and saw where you posted. If you have tried all those steps then I am really out of ideas. I will keep thinking though. When I did root, I didn't remove anything and the only thing that I flashed was a theme. Before I flashed, I made my recovery using bootstrap and I was able to get back to stock without a hitch. After getting back to stock, I also took the steps of copying everything from my SD card and internal to my pc and reformatting them as well.

Yeah all I did was root and install the ics theme that we had on the site, i did not remove any bloat..... so i will wait for Matt to push it out to me again (the first time i still had bootstrap on the phone..) or I am sure it will be available later....

Thanks... if you see anything let me know!

Hey no problem, I really hope you are able to get it. This update has really done some good things for my phone. I have not had 1 data drop since the update, the camera seems to focus a lot faster than before. The biggest thing that I have really noticed is that my call quality has improved 10 fold.

I have used this successfully before, but today nothing is happening after I hit reboot recovery. I hit bootstrap recovery, then after it says success I select reboot, then nothing happens. I uninstalled the apk then reinstalled. Still nothing. Any ideas?

After uninstalling, try removing any sign of it then reinstall. The steps too completely remove it are posted a couple pages back. If you need any help just let me know.

Good to hear. Anything special you did that you could share in the event that someone else has this issue or did it kind of fix itself?

Is this the correct Bootstrap to install for ROM's and Themes? Currently using Safestrap but no themes are for SS. So I want to go to Bootstrap with my rooted stock 748 and flash themes.

Yes, this is the original Bootstrap Recovery for the Droid RAZR. Make sure you uninstall Safestrap via the app, then install Bootstrap and bootstrap recovery.

Most new ROM's and themes are designed to work with Safestrap though.

Thanks. But I thought for ROMs you should use Safestrap and for Themes you should use Bootstrap??? :)
