EDIT: DOWNLOAD REMOVED.... Not going to be official update!!!

Restore to 6.12.173.XT912 Upgrade Path instructions have been added to installation guide for those wanting to return to whence you came.

Happy Thursday all. Minor update for those of you running 6.12.173.XT912.

All this news plastered all over the interwebz about 6.12.173.XT912 going official soon. I feel the need to one-up the world and post something more interesting.

HUGE bump in build number up to 6.12.174.XT912! (I kid of course. Minor update)

What this update does: So far as I can tell it's just an emergency patch that fixes the force close when you hit the search key in the app drawer (they disabled it. easy fix eh?). CDMA radio also is updated but no idea what changed. I figure VZW will verbage it something along the lines of "Improved Stability." Build date is last week (Jan 25th) which is nice to know something's happening over there in Libertyville, IL and that someone survived new years and is working.

Guide for install can be found

Enjoy!

Basically, when I leave my phone alone for a few minutes then unlock it, the home screen redraws. Minor annoyance but I hate screen redraws after my D3 :P

I did a fastboot on my phone and reapplied the updates and now all is OK. Not sure wtf was up before. I even backed up and wiped data/cache and it was still redrawing. All good now.

I guess IC3 is gonna need a re-port for the 12.173 kernel now that it's gonna be official. Then we will get the ICS kernel OTA like 2 weeks later, watch.

If the update contains a new kernel, radio or both, then unfortunately, yes.

I honestly think that our site is one of the main reasons the soak test hasn't happened yet. They have all the feedback they need from our forum. Especially with us spotting the force close in the app drawer long before the soak was announced.

We can take credit from XDA on that one I guess :P

There's far more action here than XDA on this phone... People are starting to realize that and shift a bit. The GSM users seem to be there and the CDMA users are more active over here.
