My wireless tethering isnt working... Anyone having this problem? Ive tried using barnacle and open garden. They run, although barnacle comes up with an error, and they show up as avaliable connections on my laptop but my laptop never truly connects, only shows that its attempting to connect.

I had this same issue when i rooted with the old zergrush method. To fix download sqlite editor from the market and navigate to the settings database and change line 150 from a 1 to a 0

Did you use the built in wireless tether app?? Thats what you use instead of a maket app.

The mobile Hotspot that is built in on your phone. I run it all the time. I even unrooted and it still works fine.

Somethings wrong with my RAZR as well. I just got my replacement today (my screen would invert colors here and there, getting annoying). I Speedtested it before ROOT, was getting like 6Mb (2 bars, Philadelphia busy metro) on LTE, just ROOTed 173 using this Motofail, now I can barely top 1Mb....whats going on?

Should I fastboot back?

Root won't ever affect the radio performance unless you give access to a program that will affect it. All root does is give you "Superuser" access.
Try fastbooting if you like?

yeah i know but this is a fresh phone and pretty close to stock. None of my app auto downloaded when I setup, all I did was the OTA and rooted using the motofail. thanks for the reply nonetheless. Fastbooting back to see what gives. (hope its not the phone but highly doubt it since I did a speedtest before the root)

Yes, tried that. none works... it connects to phone but not to the internet.

Had no choice so I fastboot back to 748 and OTA to 173. Everything is normal now back at 9Mb up and 2Mb down. I wondered what happened to cause my LTE to be so damn slow when I rooted using Motofail.

Actually I think I was getting a better radio signal on 748 than 173....

Unless the re-calibrated the bars. I know we shouldn't go by the bars for signal strength but 748 I was almost always on 4 bars...now I'm usually on 2 w/ 173

I just got the BOGO Maxx deal for my wife and I delivered yesterday and will wait for a few days before rooting mine to make sure the hardware is ok. After activating I updated to 173 and ran some speedtests and it was awesome.

new to the site tried to root my phone on version 6.12.173 with above and it is not working can someone help says adb not recognized as internal or external command am i missing something
