IC3RAZR ALPHA

YOU MUST BE ON THE .748 KERNEL AND RADIO TO FLASH THIS IF YOU ARE ON THE LEAK .173 YOU WILL NEED TO FASTBOOT BACK FIRST

Well here it is ICS for the DROID RAZR alpha build.

A HUGE THANKS TO:

DroidTh3ory for getting me excited about building ROMs to start with!!
AOSP and CyanogenMod for all the hard work on the source
Hashcode for merging the motorola code into framework base and system core and setting up the initial device and vendor trees for sypder, as well as sharing his progress on the DROID 3 with us and letting me hit his GTalk all the time. Without his initial work NONE of this would have been possible.
LiQuIDzGrL for the cool boot animation
Google for giving us Android to play with
ALL DEV's in forums everywhere for giving me the inspiration that I can do this too!!!

All source is available at

DETAILS:

CM 9 ICS_MR1 and AOSP (ICS 4.0.3_r1)

What works:
Gapps are included due to having to be customized since the camera doesn't work
Graphics working smooth (Hashcode)
Touchscreen
Capacitive buttons (Hashcode)
Charging indicator (Hashcode)
BlueTooth
Both SDCards mounting on phone
Builtin Screenshot (CM)
Reboot menu (CM)
Phone and SMS works
GPS fully functional

Audio fully working (Hashcode audio wrapper based on tpruvot's Defy work)
USB mounting of external SDcard (internal will not PC mount)
Gallery recognizes both cards (Hashcode)

1x/3G/LTE data working
NOTE: you may have to dial *#*#4636#*#* (or use Phone Info from the market) and toggle data mode between modes. For me toggling to GSM only for 5 sec, WCDMA prefered for 5sec, then to CDMA only until 1x data connects, and finally to GSM/CDMA (auto prl) and leave it. It may take up to a minute to get 1x and then up to a minute to switch to 3G/LTE

Not working:
ADB
Camera
GTalk due to camera not working (Xabber is included as a substitute)
Market will load and search but will not download apps until you open Term and "su" then type "drmserver&" or
Temp market fix:

load up ROM TOOLBOX (already installed) allow root go to "scripter" create new (top right corner) with custom name (anything, doesnt matter) put this in the script

mount -o remount,rw /system
chmod +x /system/bin/drmserver
/system/bin/drmserver&
mount -o remount,ro /system

save select and set "as boot"

MARKET FIX VIA TERMINAL EMULATOR: OPEN TERMINAL TYPE SU HIT ENTER THEN TYPE DRMSERVER& HIT ENTER AND YOU ARE THRU.

INFORMATION: READ THIS!!!!

This is an alpha build and SafeStrap for the RAZR is the easiest way to test it as you don't loose your main rom, but it also has full support for 2nd init booting in CWR through RAZR Bootstrap.
Don't blame me if screw up your phone Posted Image

This is absolutely amazing DHacker. I will flash this as soon as possible!

EDIT: Downloaded, MD5 verified, flashed in SafeStrap. Wiped everything, /system, /data, dalvik, /cache, and currently waiting for it to boot. I've just got a solid black screen at the moment after the SafeStrap menu. Is that normal?

It did seem to flash awfully fast for a 200MB ROM...

Turns out it sat at the black screen for 5 minutes before I decided to reboot it.

Tried flashing a couple of times, I can't get it to fully boot. Gets past the boot animation and says updating android then reboots and loops doing that. Wiped system, data, cache, dalvik. Used safe strap.

Also does it matter if I'm on the 173 leak or do I need to be on the 748?

I updated the OP this will ONLY work with the .748 kernel/radio if you are on any other then you have to fastboot back first. Also give it time sometimes the screen stays black for a while on first boot before the boot ani comes up it will take around 5-10 minutes for first boot.

Leave it to me. I followed video and boot looped. I was using boot strap. I did not do an MD5 sum check. I need to do this from now. on. Boot Looped for 10 min. Able to get into recovery. Working on fixing now. Dunno how it will end. I was on a clean install of 6.11.748 when I did it. :( FACK

Again, it is highly recommended to stay on SafeStrap for now (or ever :)) It is a great way to preserve stock incase you need to OTA update.

That being said, I can really vouche for this ROM. Great job DH. I have been running it for a day now solid. Follow the op and do not get discouraged if it locks up and reboots on you a little while after install. I found this to be normal as the ROM takes a little while to settle in, but then runs like a champ. I would recommend backing up your apps to sdcard before you flash. There are also multiple programs that will restore your apps in ICS, just make sure you have THAT particular apk on your sdcard or you will have to download from external sources. Again, give DHacker some love, as he has put in mad time on this entirely of free will and with a cracked screen nonetheless....

Also a shoutout to Eckdawg for making this phone happen for DHacker... that was huge.

Did u wipe system after you flashed? As that would be the cause of no boot. If u did the wipe before it sometimes takes up to 10 mins to boot on the first run.

Fastboot isn't necessary to downgrade the kernel/radio. All they have to do is install the rollback package if they're on a stock 173 installation. It'll be quicker that way unless they're on a custom ROM based on 173.

My god, this ROM is wonderful. I'm booting back into my main system to backup titanium backup and its license, and all the rest of my apps so I can install them on ICS.

rollback package? where would I find this nifty rollback package?

It's in my installation thread for 173. Bear in mind it'll only work if you're running stock 173. If you're on any custom ROM or have jacked around with 173 too much install will fail @ current system verification and require that you fastboot.

Here's my fix for market downloads. OK - it isn't my fix. But I did two hours of research to find it!

I sideloaded ROM Toolbox from my non-safe system, then used the following instructions from our XDA brethren:

load up ROM TOOLBOX (already installed)
allow root
go to "scripter"
create new (top right corner) with custom name (anything, doesnt matter)
put this in the script

mount -o remount,rw /system
chmod +x /system/bin/drmserver
/system/bin/drmserver&
mount -o remount,ro /system

save

select and set "as boot"

After creating that script, I just ran it, and my queued downloads finished downloading.

Edit: Man.... getting all this working really makes me wish I could develop ROMs! I have so many ideas (pull the Camera drivers off the leaked ICS for the GSM RAZR, etc) but can't make them work because I don't know how! :( I guess I'll keep seeping off the system! hehe

As far as getting apps back, I just put my ROM Toolbox Pro .apk on my SD card, made sure the backup I made with it was there as well, then installed and ran the App Manager and viola!

One thing worth noting, (if you have to) mess with your network settings to get data to work you have to do it every time you toggle the system in SafeStrap.

Thanks everyone involved! I've had the ROM installed maybe an hour and no FCs, no reboots, settling in extremely fast and effectively!
