So, I assume this one hasn't caused any radio problems like the one posted over on XDA?

This will not mess with nothing to do with your radio. All you are doing is changing the data\local to insert super user permisions. It has nothing to do with the radio.

Hi all,

I used this method to Root my Razr. I downloaded the Moto_Razr_Root_Windows.zip from here. Then followed the rest of th instructions... presto within a few minutes I had my Razr rooted... now to my question.

If this was the way that I rooted my Razr, how to do I go about unrooting it? I am still within my 14 day window from purchase, as I paid 299.00 plus tax for the phone, and I found out today that Amazonwireless.com is selling these phones for a penny now?! So I want to unroot then restore the phone. Then return it to VZW and order the phone from Amazon.

I unrooted mine with Z4 root.Worked for me but I guess there is allways a chance something could go wrong, do it your own risk. Are you a new customer to Verizon? The penny deal is for NEW Verizon customers only. Good luck.

I added a line to my girlfriends plan, and the penny price is included if you are adding a line. As far as the root/unroot issue. I followed that you did the one click root before on another site and then you used the Z4 to unroot. And that you said you were going to try the root from this site, but did you unroot after that using Z4?

No it will not root this phone. Z4 was made for Froyo not gingerbread. It's odd that it un-roots but since it does not need an exploit (all ready rooted) it returns the phone back to stock. I still learning adb but you can remove su permissions in there as well.

Yes, I unrooted using Z4, then did the one promt/click on this site to re root. There is also a app on the market that will unroot you. (.99) I thinks it is called ginger unroot, or something like that.

It don't work after the OTA update. The solution work only with the retail version 2.3.5 for the moment.

I just wanted to say "THANKS!" - both this and the XDA version are really similar - almost alike, except the file size is smaller and with the method in this post, I did not get the 'path not specified' error.
Happy Thanksgiving and thank you!
I love it when a plan comes together...

Very strange you could try the method that XDA has posted, which is just about the same as here:

That did not work for me, but this did - I have rebooted the phone several times without issue - even added recovery. There may be a way to get out of the loop over at XDA....

Hey all...sorry in replying late on my issue.

So..yesterday after a few hours for searching blogs and asking my friend for help in trying to un-brick my VZW Droid Razr. I decided to go to VZW store and try and get a replacement. I informed the VZW Rep that phone died and when i tired to charge the phone it was not charging at all. Informed the VZW Rep that the phone battery symbol has a question mark. The VZW Rep took to the back and came out with a brand new Droid Razr phone straight out of the box and with the cables. I was in and out the store within 20min.

I think what i going to do to buy another Droid Razr without contract and use that as my hack phone for testing before trying to unroot my VZW phone.

I was phoneless for a day and half.

Thanks all for you help.

COOL! Yeah, I have done warranty 3 times with my CAPTIVATE, where similar things had happened and AT&T just replaced the phone...good for you, dude, that is awesome news.

Damn! Team Revolution - you guys rock!!!! Rooted in about 20 seconds - not including boot time. One question though, can I update after root, and if so, will I maintain root?

Thanks Guys! :D
