Has anyone tried the custom ROMs for the Razr M? They all look great but without any feedback I am unsure whether I want to take the plunge or not. Any thoughts would be greatly appreciated!

I was more so asking if anyone had tried the custom roms posted here on droidrzr.com. I would like to hear any impressions, bugs, and if you're using it as a daily driver.

I've tried Trippin Bean. I was having WiFi issue (having trouble connecting and staying connected. None of the setting (like switching to a 3rd party keyboard or theme) would stick. I think I had a bad download, but nobody has responded to me in that thread.

I've also ran Eclipse. It was a nice smooth ROM, but wanted more customization. Therefore, I'm on CM10 now. There are an few things "broken" on it (check the main thread), but other wise working great.

I was about to try trippin bean until I saw hillmom's post. I also tried CM10 but found that certain things weren't working (I believe NFC was not). In any case, once I froze all of the bloatware, and installed nova launcher, I found that the phone did everything (and more) than I expected it to, and everything simply works! For now, I am going to (try to) refrain from putting on a custom ROM. Let's see how long this lasts.

cm10 is more or less a daily ROM this days; saves on battery... very smooth, more acceptable to customized apps. (yes NFC is not working) but yet not all phones have the chip or is fully functional. so its not a biggie for me...

I redownloaded Trippin Bean and will re flash it today or tomorrow. I think I just got a bad download. For now I'm on CM10. I would love to take AOKP for a spin! It s alpha. Once I can get access to more than one ROM slot (different issues) then I will give it a try.

I finally bit the bullet, rooted and installed Nitro's Eclipse ROM. It runs very smooth, buttery smooth. It's hard to gauge battery life because I haven't been able to stop tinkering with it since I flashed. I love having the JB lock screen with the vibrate/sound toggle still on it. All the bloatware is gone. Everything works including NFC as far as I can tell. The clock app actually has a timer and stopwatch (stock does not). I am very pleased with it. Thank you again to Nitro for his work on this ROM.

The harware limitation of 8GB internal memory is there only forseeable problem. This is of course a hardware problem and not a ROM problem. I only had enough room for 1 additional ROM slot. I may be able to get a little more room by doing a factory reset on the stock rom side but I'm not quite ready to cut the cord yet.

If you do decide to flash into stock partition...first make sure you have the fastboot files ready just in case and than just know that you cant yet flash directly onto it... so i recommend getting the rom like you want it, once you got it ready do a backup of it and save it to EXTERNAL SD CARD and than go and activate the stock partition wipe cache, factory reset, dalvik, system and it would help on space if you also wipe internal storage. after that go back home and hit restore and chose the backup you made. and there you have it
