VZW has built up a lot of bad will and competitors' service coverage continues to increase. Eventually VZW will pay the price for their greed. What goes around comes around. If they take away my unlimited plan I'm gone to Tmobile. I'll live with the reception to keep unlimited.

Sent from my DROID RAZR HD using Tapatalk 2

See to me, that's crazy. I haven't had unlimited for almost 2 years, and not once have I come even close to going over. And I stream music, YouTube, download roms, screw around on the forum, run my SiriusXM for at least 4 hours a day, still. Never even close. Unlimited data would be the LAST THING to convince me to go back to Tmobiles crappy reception and god awfully slow hspa+. Never happening.

Sent from my XT926 using Tapatalk 2

How much data do you use normally?

I don't even know, I stopped paying attention when I realized no matter how hard I try I don't go over. My limit it 4gb though.

Sent from my XT926 using Tapatalk 2

The only reason I use a lot of data is tethering TBH. The most I've hit in a long time is 20GB though.

Sent from my IdeaTabS2109A-F using Xparent Skyblue Tapatalk 2

What are you tethering with? Like a laptop or something? Maybe it's just me, I don't do much of it. But I guess different needs for different people.

Sorry I have to talk about Apple.....since it was a choice.

I have the NEW iPad 4 retina scan and it is great in many ways, it was a gift though. I really love the retina display-wow, and its very quick even with a dozen web pages open and a couple apps going, but my old Pentium Dell laptop Flew on Windows XP until the antivirus software was installed that it slowed it into a snail crawl so maybe that's why Apples are fast, but the iPad really is easy to use. Until, it locked out of the blue and went back to the main screen which I password locked, rebooting did nothing. I had to quickly hit each password button numerous times very fast and just the right amount of times just to get in, wow that took forever to do. When I got in it was unusable and I couldn't scroll down - I was screwed, but Luckily, I backed it up when I first got it so I  did a simple 2 minute recovery from my laptop and it was like new again, but I lost a lot of files on my iPad. If it was out of warranty and I had to pay, what would it have cost, probably $100 easy. Last, I have 64 gig and they charged a fortune for every gig I got, mine was almost $900 I checked. It never has or will come with a SD card slot. The iPad 5 may have a  hdmi, but mine doesn't , but that lightning adapter is really cool, so easy to plug in even upside down works, instant plug in, not like the micro usb on the androids where sometimes you need a light on to see while you fight it, but other than a head phone jack that's all there is along with a single speaker, no surround sound, that with be the iPad 5, but who cares , right, but I read the power adapter to hdmi works only with surprisingly Apple videos and their TV service, so no HBO to go, Netflix, HULU Plus, etc..... and there is an adapter for SD cards with 2 stars that works for a few people, but with Google drive, Apple cloud,  who needs a SD card, except when you have more than a few gigs to back up, like videos or photos.

I love my RAZR XT-912. I rooted it the first time, back in February days after it was hacked and I got stuck with it. I'm so dumb, I hate updates and rarely do them without investigating. However, I blindly took a Verizon reps word to do an update, and I needed it and scored the new Jelly Bean, but no more tethering. I had the ICS and it let me tether with no mods, before then I knew nothing of rooting.

Apples I5 is the same thickness as the old razr with a puny screen and like the ipad you pay for every gig, no SD card slot and no easy tethering. There is no upside to it.  I will keep my Razr thanks, no other carrier works in my house, only Verizon, so I'm boned and they bone, they do have great coverage though. I was in Mexico on a fishing trip, made 1 call, and got 3 texts, and sent 3 texts, I got a warning text in Spanish, I think, I don't read Spanish and they don't do both languages there like here; my bill was $94 extra for that, I should have known. Also I was in the Virgin Islands and had to check my email and make 1 call, lasted 5 minutes for everything, $77 and no warning- it was a U.S.A. owned Virgin island, still boned me, I knew that was coming though, but $77 for 5 minutes that's robbery-its air time, nothing actually consumed. I used an old phone, not on any plan and a $20 prepaid phone card in Costa Rica that worked a few hours for a week calling USA, that's how its done, but no web though.

Also, my yahoo email got hacked and it was from the iPad, cant be anything else. I couldn't get rid of him/her so I made a new account with new passwords. What do you know I'm hacked again, the IP is in Japan, Venezuela, Florida (i'm So Cal) and it is the iPad. Apple refuses to assist me claiming IOS is un-hack able, sure it is. Apple is way over rated.

All the teens and college kids love Apple, funny since they are all broke. Half of them have broken screens they cant afford to fix too; my daughter is included in that mix with her 8 gig I4S with broken screen and no tethering, ha-ha.

So if you really like to overpay get an I5 with Verizon it wont do anything better and you better have good eyes or reading glasses, but you will look cool to the youngsters. However, your bank account wont.

I really want to root the 2 kindle fire HD's in my home to run and look like my razr , like a real Android pad. Amazon nickels and dimes you, $1 to get your camera to work with Skype, and it goes on and on, why put a border around a small screen, you think the nickel and diming would free you of ads, not ! I would love help rooting or changing those back to simplicity and the Google store.

Tablet and laptop occasionally. When I go on vacation it goes up obviously as my phone is typically faster than some hotel connections for Internet. I tether and vpn into company network a lot on my laptop to work so that's where I hit the high usage.

I suppose it depends on where you go on vacation and such. I've personally never had too many problems with hotel wifi, but again, the hotel brand the locale makes all the differences...especially relative to the local 3G/4G connection.

(sorry). I have just this to say about the so called "

Please Login or Register to see this Hidden Content

": As of the LATEST Apple devices (iPad 4 and iPhone 5) the

Please Login or Register to see this Hidden Content

(pixels per inch) are 264PPI and 326PPI, respectively. Now, let's compare that to the some of the better screened...

Android Devices:
Motorola Droid Razr HD: 312 PPI (not better, but close...remember, according to Apple, these are the "highest resolutions the human retina can decipher).
HTC Droid DNA: 441 PPI (head and shoulders beyond ANY Apple device (I've owned a DNA, it's most certainly noticeable, perhaps I have super-human Retinas?)
Samsung Galaxy S4: (also) 441 PPI.

It should be noted, the DNA and S4 are 5.0" displays and the HD is a 4.7" display, where as the iPhone is a 4" display and the iPad is a 9.7". While this is relative to both the resolution and the perceived visibility of said devices, it argues greatly against Apple in their saying that "no higher PPI is usable by the human eye". While I find this both ambiguous and preposterous, it's further reinforced by the other OEMs developing better resolution and tighter pixel screens based on their own "non-bias" research. Who can honestly say how finite any one human eye can see anyway? While I commend Apple for their branding and marketing prowess, there is most CERTAINLY better screens available (as I just showed). AND these companies are not relying on marketing hoopla and fancy-termed babble in an attempt to convince the consumer that there is "no need for a higher resolution screen based on human eye restrictions". If this were true, than why is it the "Retina" display has grown in both PPI AND resolution with each iteration? If Apple were correct with their "Retina" projection from the gate, then they would most certainly have NO NEED in improving their PPI, regardless of screen size (which has mostly remained constant...especially in the iPad.)

Nice move on Apple, but touche.

Yeah, I almost have to agree with the others. I haven't had any "FCs" in a VERY long time. Not since Gingerbread. I can't imagine why that happens to you. VERY RARELY does an app hang on me. And (BACK IN THE DAY) when I did have an iphone, just before I got my OG droid, apps wouldn't crash, the entire phone would reset. Now, maybe they've worked on that, that was SOME time ago. BUT, I hardly ever have FC's. And I don't think people buy iPhones over Android because of stability. I think they buy it because they are sheep, suckers for marketing, who have the "perception" that iOS is more stable because they've been brain washed by Steve Jobs (my he rest in peace) that their software is superior over any other OS. Both mobile and computers. I personally believe OSX is a better OS than Winblows (but we can thank Linux for that). The same reason we can thank Linux for making Android as awesome as it is. Just my $0.02, not law.

Proves a Point with the Power of Marketing and Support Services...they do Walk the Walk in Our Busy Tech World for those looking for Stability and Interfacing other devices,,,
But, I am not an Advocate for Apple...

In my opinion the only hot phones out right now are the S4 and the HTC One. All carriers have both of them.

Verizon DOES have the HTC One. It's just not available yet and regardless of the variant, the S4 is a hot phone. Like I said.

I would also like to point out that the GE S4 is the same S4 but with pure AOSP. Same phone, different software.

Vzw is getting the 32gb variant as well. Oh well, to each their own. I own an S4 and it's by far the best phone for most carriers. Happy trails at AT&T or T-Mobile.

Thanks! Any word on HTC One or gs4 Active? I played with the active at an att store and I loved the hefty aluminum, water resistance, and real buttons to press for navigation. The screen looked nicer to me too.

I wonder if we'll ever get a shot at a new model Nexus with 4G or the google edition of the gs4?

I have 5 lines with Verizon. Unlimited text and mintues w/ 6 gigs of data. I used to have AT&T, after driving from Cali to NY then North to Toronto and back to Cali, my wife and I decided to drop AT&T for the more robust VZW CDMA network. Customer service and Network availability have been out-standing with Verizon. Recently, I had some issues with my XT912. I was camping in below freezing weather, the phone froze and the screen shattered. Protect Cell charged me $200.00 to replace the phone. They sent me a "refurbished" phone which had a bad head phone jack. Protect Cell wanted to charge me $150.00 to replace the defective phone they sent me. I contacted VZW customer service, they walked me through some trouble shooting steps, and concluding that the phone was never refurbished by protect cell at all. They explained the exact timeline of the phone from the time Protect Cell got it from VZW, and then shipped it to me imediately. To solve this issue VZW upgraded me to the XT926M as a warranty replacement, I recieved it today. So far I like the phone, it's more than capable for what I need.

I am no fan boy, but Motorola wireless radios are strong, VZW service, both customer and network are effiecient and customer oriented.

The Bottom line Protect Cell and Go Wireless did me wrong, VZW made it better.

: )

My XT926M already rooted.

It can be a crap shoot with Big Red. Ocassionally I get the associate who is pushy and trying to sell me some crappy bluetooth device to "solve all my problems". It's better to just shut them down and call back.
