I'd make a guide - if the bloody thing worked.  But alas, it did not.

Actually, that was a bit of sarcasm mixed with a slight poke at an oriental warrior who shall remain nameless!

I wasn't really expecting it to work.  SafeRoot still works though, so, it's pretty trivial to root the OMAP devices.  Still, it was a good test.

Which is why I tested it - I wanted to see, since SR does, indeed, work....

So... this new root exploit does not work? Was wondering being I've been holding back and just sporting Blurry HD v2.2 on my Moto HD Maxx.

On a Motorola Droid BIONIC, no, it doesn't work.

No worries - I figured others would too, so I made it more obvious :)

Um. Install app. Press button. Wait 15 seconds. Is a video really needed for that? Lol

Thanks Sam,

I was able to use your utility, TowelRoot, and Motopocalpse to update from a rooted 4.1.2 phone with altered files (to get onto PagePlus) to a rooted and unlocked Razr Maxx with 4.4.2 on it. I lost PagePlus in the process. Will try to go through the process of editing the files  so that I can get back PagePlus. The guide on Howard Forums was for 4.1.2 so don't know if it will work for the new rom. If needed, what do I use to flash back to 4.1.2 without losing root (and possibly messing with my now unlocked bootloader)? I assume that if I could find a rooted stock rom for 4.1.2 then that would be the way to go. Please excuse my noob questions but I am new to this process.

Thanks

Jackie

Just take the 9.30.1 FXZ, run my rsd script generator on it, then flash the universal script to downgrade back to 4.1.2. Root by flashing custom recovery and flashing supersu zip in recovery. A process every new unlocked user should learn. No more root exploits. :)

Please post how you made out. I'm in the same situation buy haven't unlocked yet, I can't have my phone down until the weekend.

Rooted Verizon Galaxy S4 4.4.2 NC5

Titanium Backup and Root Explorer both report full root.

Does anyone know if SafeStrap still works with this new root exploit? I'm locked on 4.4.2

Why locked?  You should really unlock asap before you lose the opportunity.
