For all those wondering about a new dialer, I've got some news for you. We maxx owners will probably never see anything other than what we have. Dave Schuster made a comment on that on google+. Attached File  uploadfromtaptalk1405382868972.jpg   70.66KB   10 downloads

I still think the droid line should die. People are tired of the carrier control on things directly related to the android experience. Not keeping up with the Jones's, keeps you one step behind imo.

See I don't think it should die, I think it should be opened to all carriers. I absolutely love the Motorola Droid line, always have and don't really know why. I think because in my mind its unique. When it finally does die, I'll be lost lmao

I'm with Kaos on this one.  It should die.  The Droid brand gives VZW almost total control over the UX.  And that's not really all that good given their track record.  I mean look at what Dave said in that G+ post you quoted.  If you want a real Android experience, get a non-Droid like the X.  LMAO.  That was thinly veiled disdain for the control VZW leverages on the Droid brand of devices.  And Moto wrongly takes a lot of grief for it.

The sad truth for me is as long as Motorola Droid devices are being made, I'll be getting one. I honestly find absolutely nothing wrong with the Droid Maxx. The fact that the dialer isn't the same as the Moto X's doesn't bother me at all. I still think its a awesome phone. The funny part is that I saw a post in a Moto X google+ community asking if there is any way to get the Droid dialer on the X because the person likes it more.

It definitely all comes down to preference.  For me, unlocked and stock android are what I care most about.  My next phone is likely to be an NX6.  Admittedly I'm enjoying the hell out of the X right now.

The strange part is that I can't come up with a 100% solid reason I prefer the Droid devices. I know there are better devices out there, more popular, better accessories for those said devices.

But I'm always pulled toward the underdog. There is just something about these dang devices that keep pulling me back.
