First off extra special thanks to Jcase and Sean Beaupre for their hard work and successful completion of this task.

I would recommend reading and re-reading this info before beginning the process. There are also some You Tube vids to watch that walks you through the process.

While I am not going to reprint the entire process here as I would like you to travel through the appropriate channels to get the most recent up to date info I will do my best to give you all the links to what you need to complete the process.

Always be sure your battery is between 75% and Full before beginning.

Please note: This will not yet unlock your bootloader, it will just set it up to unlock through HTCdev.com

I will be adding info and updating this thread as needed but I wanted to get the info to you so we can have a discussion on it.

I would watch the Owenbeats vids linked about and follow the android police article also linked above. It's pretty straightforward. I believe in the you tube vid there is a link to the android sdk which will have adb in it. As for command prompt, on your pc go to run then type in CMD and that will open a window. Just copy and past the lines from the article as when instructed to.

Nice!! Did mine last night. Apparently the emails go out quicker at 1:00AM. Lol... I'm enjoying Viper Rom. It was what seemed like a long journey to get there. After unlocking, rooting, loading recovery, loading a writable kernel and modules then finally flashing the Rom.

Hey did you have to wait a long time to get a submission successful? Sometime it took so long it would log me out....log back in and then it would say unsuccessful....

No I did mine at 1AM EST. I received my unlock code within 2 minutes of submission. The website has had issues for the last 3 days. A bunch of guys on XDA have your same issue.

So as of last night and today, i absolutely cannot get this to work, as many others cannot either (per xda). Hoping it is just a htcdev site problem to be fixed soon, and not a vzw screwed me over. just figured id see if there was any new info on hear. Thanks guys

What exactly is the problem?? Are you using the newest bootloader unlock on XDA? I have not updated the info here with the new method. Let me know what your issue is

I am on the stock cubed Kernel. It is comparable to stock with battery life. I have to upgrade Viper to the new version and I am gonna load the tweaked cubed at that time.

Mike_augie,

I didn't see a follow up from you. Did you get your boot loader unlocked? If not, let me know and I will help you. It's super easy.
