I've been running a CM11 nightly and over time it's become almost unusable. My phone has been nagging me to update to the newest snapshot (cm-11-20141112-SNAPSHOT-M12-moto_msm8960) but every time I tried it failed. Today I finally figured out that it's because my CWM recovery was still 6.0.4.4 and it needed 6.0.4.5. I downloaded and flashed the PhilZ CWM 6.0.4.5 and everything seemed to be working but when I tried to update my CM ROM it says that the file is for xt926 and that I have a xt925. My phone is definitely an xt926 vanquish. Is there any way to fix this?

I also tried installing Dhacker's CM12 12/12 ROM and got the same error "This package is for device: moto_msm8960, xt907, scorpion_mini, smq, xt926; this device is xt925"

Update: I updated PhilZ CWM to 6.0.4.7 and am no longer getting the xt925 error. I'm instead getting an error saying I need a 4.4 bootloader (Status 7).

Yes, you need the KK bootloader if you're going to run the CM that's based off of KK.

Thanks RikRong. You mentioned in another thread to install the latest FXZ but I'm having trouble figuring out how to do that. I'm pretty inexperienced with this stuff and most of the guides I find just confuse me more. I did find one article about updating FXZ but all the links were broken.
