How much storage capacity does a Moto Droid Razr Maxx HD have?

I received my third one yesterday from ebay that was supposed to be 32gb, but only has 16gb.

Is there a way to tell them before they ship?

Any help appreciated.

Have them send a screen shot - of course not an option for a non functional phone. I thought a shot of original box would help, but just looked at my orig box, and nothing stating storage size (new Turbo box does). Probably didn't know squat about their own device, looked up specs, and went with whatever looked best. A sometimes - roll the dice - scenario! Good luck!

Only difference between the razr hd and the maxx is the storage as you have noted and the battery. The outsides are identical.  Some of the maxx's even show Droid Razr HD in the about phone in settings.  The only thing you can look for is the 32 gig storage for the maxx and 16 gig for the razr hd.  One point of interest though moto didn't make a developer edition of the razr maxx hd, but they did the 16 gig razr hd.

Forgive me for going against the infinite wisdom of Mr. Spainter (I do really mean that, respectively!). I have a XT926M. XT926 - is a Razr HD. The M denotes - Maxx. My unit is a 32GB internal, and 32 GB external SD card. Please correct me if I'm wrong. I've seen many interpretations of what model they have, which seems to be a big reason for flashing wrong software (Note - Razr HD and Razr Maxx HD run on same OS.) Here's a few pics of what I have (Presently running Blisspop) BTW - Blisspop, or any other ROM isn't going to know, or care about storage size or battery size!

You are correct in that the M denotes the Maxx.  However if you look at your own screen shots you will see that it says Droid Razr HD.  That information comes from the build prop file.  That can cause confusion on users part.  When the Razor Maxx HD first came out it did say Droid Razor Maxx HD and did so until it was flashed with another firmware, be it a custom Rom or a FXZ. The SD Card size is irrelevent because you can change those as easy as changing socks.  Internal storage can become an issue with partitioning and addressing with some applications. I had to jump thriough some hoops a while back to load some propriatairy software on my Maxx HD due to some generic settings that over time had been changed.  So it can make a difference.

Agreed. Internal storage more important! Back to the OP, does the seller offer returns? Also knowing system version is important if you plan on rooting and/or unlocking bl. Ask seller to send you a pic of phone with eBay listing ID and storage/system info, before you buy. My 2ยข

I replaced the glass in one.

After reassembling, the screen will not come on.

Worked fine with broken screen.

How are you supposed to know if the phone is on or off?

My guess would be to check ribbon cable connection. Make sure aligned properly before closing clip, and careful on handling of screen to phone base, as not to pull on cable prior to screen install.

Note, you can, very carefully power up phone, prior to setting screen in place. If a no go, power down before making any adjustments or setting of screen!

Use a mHDMI cable and hook it up to a tv/monitor

Now I did it!

The thin black strip that holds the cable in place came off.

Is it possible to get it back on?
