So if I installed and Im on a non-rooted stock phone can I use fastboot utility and reapply upgrades from phone?
Also if i can do I lose any data or need to back anything up?
Also can I delete the zip files for the two non official upgrades i have on my sd card?

Instructions have been added to the OP and RSD will always be independent of being rooted.

Maybe it's just me but I'm noticing faster hand off from Wi-Fi to 3g and back...also way better mms text success rates...the 3g used to just drop off when I was on wifi and not pickup for sending /receiving mms pictures...before this update I had about a 50/50 success rate on first try ...now I haven't had one failure in 3 days since I'm on .174...

You would need to read rsdlite and fastboot files section for the knowledge you seek :)
