Guys i have quick question. Can anyone tell me how to disable camera click tone when i make pictures?

I digged in the settings but nothing there. So it looks like only option is to delete the click-sound file. But without root i cannot do it.

I don't want to root only for this. I like my RAZR in original configuration.

Regards.

I am assuming your phone is GSM? Not Verizon/CDMA? I am asking so I can move this into the proper location..

Moving to Razr [XT910-GSM/UTMS] → Razr General [XT910-GSM]

If it's from the UK it's GSM. Only Verizon uses CDMA to my knowledge, the rest of the world is GSM.

And just FYI the only difference you'll notice from rooting is that you'll have the superuser app, it doesn't change your configuration like a ROM will. So really no reason to not root just for this. But to answer your question no I don't know how.

I had bad experience from rooting my huawei phone. After the root, without even replacing the rom, the WIFI started to fail down on intermittent basis. Even after reset, restore the phone - same.

So that's why I prefer to stay away anymore from root.

Hmm...that shouldn't happen but I can understand why you'd be hesitant to do it again.

If you still have the ICS camera then there should be a check box to turn off the shutter sound .... open the camera and drag the menu bar open... hit the settings button (looks like a gear) and uncheck the "shutter tone" checkbox ..... should work :-)

It's illegal in some countries to have a silent camera, which may be why the option isn't present without rooting the phone. That may be something you want to check into.

It sucks. Looks like only way is to root and delete that shutter tone.

Damn, restrictions. >_>

That was the bill proposed in 2009. Not sure where it went from there though.
