I factory reset my RAZR HD after messing up my internal storage with a custom rom. I used the RAZR HD utility 10.1. Now I am back on 4.0.4 and every time I try to update update to 0.7.2 before jelly bean it doesn't work. when I try to download it it disappears and doesn't show up in my notification bar. When it does its stuck at 0%. Any help would be appreciated

Seems like there's a few of us having this issue. No answers yet unfortunately.

Do you think it could be a temporary problem with verizon or Motorola??

I actually talked to Moto this morning... but they really weren't helpful at all.
They were more concerned with the fact that my phone had been rooted, and refused to assist.
I have flashed back to ICS and taken this update at least a dozen times, without issue. So this
is either a temporary issue, or Moto has put up some kind of road block. We'll see.

I have taken update before as well. I think they will be pushing jellybean for the original RAZR soon maybe that has something to do with it. I'm pretty sure if I can't update my phone and I'm running stock ICS they'll have to replace my phone for security reasons.

I went ahead and contacted Verizon. Got to 2nd level tech, manually pushed the update to the phone, still a no go.
They offered to send a new phone, but I'm not going that route yet. From what I know, the replacement phone will
come packaged with JB. Kind of defeats the purpose.

If you restored stock ICS using the utility and didn't root do you think you could get the update

I know its such a silly file, I just looked everywhere for it and I can't find a small 6 meg update file :( , otherwise you could load it yourself in recovery.. Then flash JB yourself also, I have the JB update file but that wont work without the stupid 0.7.2.XT926.Verizon.en.US from October 2012.. :Sigh..

That would solve all of our problems haha. I wonder how many people are experiencing this?

Even thought it's time consuming... I can update straight to 4.1 via Moto Device Manager.
I'm doing the normal root protect blah blah... we'll see if it works. If not I can always waste
more time doing it this way lol.

Ok, well I got to 4.1 with device manager, but was not able to retain root. Kind of figured that much.
Figured I'd go ahead and take the new phone Verizon was offering lol. Nice that we have that file now!
