Hello all,

I am a new user posting from New Zealand.

I recently brought the Atrix HD MB886 online as an "unlocked" phone (I think from Canada?) and it seems to work fine sending txt's and making calls but I cannot get the mobile data to work.  If i go into "about" and then "phone status" it shows "Mobile data state - Disconnected"

I have tried adding the APN settings but this doesn't seem to change the disconnected state.

I read somewhere that even though the phone is unlocked, the mobile data may still be locked by AT&T?

If this is true, is there anything i can do to get it connected?

I really love my new phone and i hope i can get this working :D

These are my phone specs if it is any help:

System version: 98.4.20.MB886.ATT.en.US

Model number: MB886

Android version: 4.1.1

Baseband version: MB886_BP_100740.071.65.04P

Build number: 9.8.0Q_MB886_FFw-20

Does your sim card connect to data in another phone?

I will have to find another phone with a micro sim to try, my last phone took a normal sim and that worked fine but the atrid HD takes a micro so i took it into the telecom shop and they transferred my number on to a micro sim.

I might get the chance to try it in another phone tomorrow so ill post back when i can confirm. thanks!

Usually if you are having that kind of issue a new sim is what it takes.

Does it show it's IMEI by chance? if not then maybe someone flashed the wrong radio onto it. If it is factory unlocked it should be go to go on the phone's end of things. I ran into this on a Note i717 once and just flashed the OEM radio back to it to get it to work again.

If they did give you a new Sim card it could be the issue, your old one you could of cut down to size. Also they make adapters to go from micro to full size on sims.
