Thanks to the user revowii over at youtube we have a first look on the Verizon DROID RAZR HD (XT926 Vanquish) before the official unveiling that is allegedly coming on September 5th.

You can find these videos in the links below, or see the screenshots taken

Will Verizon allow the bootloader to be unlocked? Will it meet the hype (if it has any at all)? Will YOU get one?

I'd say the bootloader question wouldbe a 50-50. It really depends on the hardware in this phone. If this thing will meet/make any hype in my opinion has to do with the specs of this badboy. Will it be quad core? How about battery life? Will it get Jelly Bean? Will it take 7 months to be implemented? Will it come out the same week Google releases their "K" OS? All of these things, many will go unanswered or be lied about. My biggest issue, I hate the soft keys because they lack the settings button. I use the settings button as often as I use the home button. And I've used the UI without a normal settings button and it's a pain. They put the settings menu in different places in different apps and menus. It sucks.

Guess we'll see what this actually ends up being. I'd consider it with unlockable bootloader, quadcore processor and MAxx-like battery life. Without those 3 things, I'll keep my current gear, it's just not a big enough step up.

All great points. I am in the same boat, My OG Razr does everything I need it to and I'll continue to use it and my unlimited data unless this phone is a home run. If I am to buy a new phone and change my data plan, it needs to be the next best phone on the market, not a minor upgrade over my current.

Judging by the hundreds....er tens (maybe) of replies to a home page thread, I would say no too many people are all that hyped up yet about this device. The specs better include more than a screen or this thing is gonna go by way of the bionic. (all due respect)

I'm interested in the RAZR HD for sure, but it'll be hard to give up my RAZR maxx seeing as it is more than adequate for what I need and has pretty good developer support. If the RAZR HD has an unlockable bootloader then it should get some decent developer support, but who knows.

to make this phone worth it for me is a 13mp camera, unlockable bootloader, and guarantee that it will see JB sometime soon. if none of the above is going to happy then my Razr will hold me over

Be prepared to be disappointed lol.

Also, hope everyone with unlimited data has fun paying full retail for a RAZR with a tiny bit bigger battery and an HD Screen lol.
