AOSP 4.4 Kit-Kat for Razr Hd (XT926)

Ok guys, like

, we've got some 4.4 AOSP KitKat builds that we're gonna be posting (and tinkering with for some basic options). All credit goes to dhacker, hashcode, epinter & company and the entire Razr QCom Dev-Team for getting this up and running so quickly.

Prerequisites:

You must be on an unlocked (or dev) Razr HD XT926-VZW

You MUST have TWRP 2.6.3.0 flashed (all older versions won't work). I find the easiest way to accomplish this is to download the appropriate

, place it on your SD card then install from the Play Store an app called "

Please Login or Register to see this Hidden Content

". This is an amazingly simple app that allows you to put a recovery image right on your SD card, you run the app, choose flash recovery and basically just hit "go". And it'll flash the recovery for you. Certainly there are other ways and many write-ups on how to do this manually with fastboot or whatever else you wish, I find this way to be the most user friendly.

Download and Put on your SD Card:

Please Login or Register to see this Hidden Content

(this is PURE AOSP, is DOES NOT INSTALL ROOTED!)

(I like the Paranoid Android ones, they WORK, are updated regularly and oh did I say they work?)

Rom Download:

Please Login or Register to see this Hidden Content

Destructions:

Download the most recent posting of the Rom zip, the Gapps and the Root zip from the provided links

Put this stuff on your SD card (I don't care which)

(BEFORE you do ANYTHING, make sure you've flashed your updated TWRP 2.6.3.0! You only need to do this once, it's final!)

Reboot into TWRP recovery

MAKE A BACKUP! This stuff is Alpha AT BEST!

Wipe Data, Cache, Dalvik Cache, System (going from 4.X.X to 4.4 without doing this will break stuff, don't be lame...just do it)

Flash Rom zip, Gapps, Root zip

Reboot

????

Profit

MD5 Sums:

Rom - 1e2af900c34a96ee46440bc0c8e87f7a

XT926 2.6.3.0 TWRP - 2271019b59e42a69fc539c30668d8b7b

SuperSu.zip - ecc25ead04672952a59470105afe8704

What Works?:

I've been told this most recent build has working data and external SD mount, but you're more than welcome to complain, just remember this is alpha!

What's Broken?:

Rumour has it, MMS. SMS does function, afaik.

What will you do about broken stuff?:

Not much, but we'll try. We're all lucky as hell we've got Android 4.4 on a device that Moto/VZW ABANDONED on 4.1.2...BE HAPPY!!

Very special THANK YOU's in no order:

for bringing this to us to early.

I tried that on mine and all I kept getting was all Google apps force closing. Thought I'd never get it switched back to Dalvik cause all of the force closes. Is this build of Kit Kat a little different than DHackers or something?

I think they recompiled dhackers build but not sure. When I first switched to ART I got a million FC's too. I got past them rebooted, and havent had another one since.

So, having issues flashing this build maybe someone can help me out. I'm on the Droid Razr Maxx HD and have updated to the latest Team Win recovery. (2.6.3.0). However, when I try to flash these, I keep getting this error:

set_metadata_recursive: some changes failed

Can anyone help me out? I've tried wiping data, tried flashing it with SD card and without SD card (from internal) but I can't get it to budge.

Also have tried re-downloading the zip files.

Thanks

Ok, here's my dilemma.  I updated TWRP successfully, wiped data, cache, dalvik cache and system per instructions.

The ROM install "failed" and now I can't seem to mount the system again and revert to a backup.

I tried to clear the system again, fastboot to recovery, but I'm unable to activate the "x" to mount the system.

I've had this happen before, but for the life of me, I can't remember what I did to fix this.

Anyone have this happen?

Thanking the forum for your wisdom.

Why do you guys "mount system" just to restore a back-up?

I don't mount system, but after trying to install the 4.4 package, I can't really install any roms anymore, not even 4.3 which worked fine. All I can do is use the Moto Razr HD util to flash back to stock.

Why do you guys "mount system" just to restore a back-up?

For my xt926, when I attempted to restore my backup, it failed and says it's unable to mount the system.

I'm at a loss in what I should do next to get my phone back up and running.

Any suggestions?
