If you are the brave of heart and your phone is rooted, use folder size chart. You can see exactly which folder/apps is taking a huge chunk of your storage space.

/system is the ROM space, not RAM, isn't it?
As far as RAM itself, it is taken up by running applications. If you have things running the background, like facebook then log out of one (or more) of them and see if they RAM usage goes down.
Another thing that can take up actual RAM is SMS and Phone Call log. Using two apps by Ritesh Sahu,
and you can back up all your SMS and call logs and then remove them from your phone, which can free up a bit of RAM depending upon how much you actually ahve there. With SMS, anything under ~200 SMS / ~40 MMS is probably not going ot help a lot but you can still do it. For calls, I think anything under ~300 calls should not really be hurting you either.

What size partition did you create? Are you using multiple slots? Aviator became increasingly slow for me. Ended up going back to stock slot which brought me a noticeable performance increase.

Delete some apps.
