Anyone else having LAGG while scrolling on the site? Its only this site since the new theme. Kinda odd

Cleared cache that wasnt the problem... I think its the background image being to big or something

Let me try to reduce it and see if that helps.

Ok, I reduced the background image. See if that helps.

its still skippy. Something odd is going on lol

Whatever it is, its just this theme, the old theme is a little twitchy but the mobile one works fine

Yeah, it is a little slow in mobile browsers for some reason, but the old one is as well.

Yeah, I'm not sure much can be done about that. These themes have quite a bit more to them compared to the standard ip board or mobile theme. It makes sense for them to be laggy. That's why the mobile theme exists.

I gotta say I have no lag scrolling here at all. Win7, Chrome, semi-beast pc.

Some of what you saw earlier may be due to the theme still being worked on. I did notice some slow loading earlier but that seems better now.

Its always been laggy for me ONLY when I first log in.... I just chalked it up as the cache being built /rebuilt ....

That's what happens when you set 90% of the page elements with the opacity property -__-. That, and the wall paper takes up a huge hump in the memory believe it or not. Everytime the page scrolls, all browsers (from what I can tell) rerender the page if you have a fixed background image.

My suggestion to whomever is designing the template is to cut back on over using the opacity property. It might help.

So, how do you make things transparent without using opacity?
I am the one who made the theme, and it is my first. I have zero background in this so bare with me I'm learning. :)
However, aside from the one or two in this thread, I have not heard any complaints about speed or lack of.

I'm on a nice quad core machine and I find a few sites and including this one (old theme and new) laggy.

I use chrome and I have no idea why it doesn't like some sites on this machine. I'm currently on windows 8 and it's still laggy

I've tried difference video drivers and even played with gpu acceleration in chrome via about:flags

Might have to switch back to firefox, which I havent used in foreeevveerr.

Edit: I just installed Google Canary (nightly build of chromium I believe) and my lag is gone. Trying to find out the difference in the builds.
