I have just noticed all of my outgoing calls result in my screen locking. I am unable to access the phone in any way. The phone call is active; but, I can not hang up or get the screen lock off. The ability to hang up by pressing the power botton does work to end the call, bringing back the screen.

This just started since instlling Jelly Bean (JBDualBoot-XT912_v1.0a).
At the same time, I installed a recommended ROM: (Deodexed-98.72.8-XT912) I had difficulty with installation; because, I had no prior experience. I had to learn a lot, and I did, just to get the job done.

Can anyone recommend possible/probable solutions to resolve this issue?
Comments have been made that this is an ongoing issue, before JB. I discussed this with Motorola tech support and they have confirmed it is a problem with the RAZR phones and there is no resolution for it at this time.
Some even think it is ROM related. After talking to tech support, I think this may be true. Then again, it may be a hardware issue with Motorola.

Any ideas is of great help. T
hanks in advance.

Update: I am continuing to check resources for more information. I have also done a little practical testing.
I can confirm, my problem is on every call I make. The screen may or may not lock immediately upon dialing. However, in a short time, the screen will lock up. The call stays active so I have been turning on the speaker immediately, so I can hear while messing with the phone.

In attempt to work around this problem, I made a change in my settings to hang up when I press the power button. (I had to do this because I make calls that often get caught in a telephone menu that requires pressing keys to get an extension. I was stuck until the other end hung up.)
Now, I just push power and it hangs up my call and my screen comes back on.

1/5/2013 Update: For no explanation, my phone is working better. I have come to the conclusion that this problem is the sensor on the front of the phone. While using the phone, the screen came back on a couple of times. Then I experimented by tapping the screen several times to try and wake it up. It actually did, a couple times. With that in mind, I inspected the protective film on screen. It was filthy. I put a new film on and that should cut less light, which may have an effect. Still testing. I also deleted my ROM and flashed it back in.

I will provide more updates later.

I feel this has to have a resolution somewhere in the settings options already on the phone. If anyone finds the answer, post it immediately.

Update: I have been advised to try flashing a new ROM. I have it downloaded and want to try it as soon as I find instructions on how to flash/install a new ROM. (This will tell how little I know. Lol )

Same problem here. Intermittently. Maybe try and let it set in a couple days I guess.

Oh, Zero, my problem is no longer intermittent. I have turned on my voice to work through a locked screen. I do not know if this will help.

Update: This did not help. I was not able to use voice commands to press keys or anything else through the locked screen.

It has been mentioned that this may be a ROM issue. Does anyone have anything to add? I should rename this topic to "Screen Locks on Calls"

It has been happening to me also but only after I changed my governor to hotplugx. I am going to test it on the stock setup and see if it happens.

This may or may not work for you but it has fixed some issues for me in the past. Install busybox and use option smart install. When it finishes reboot into recovery (SS) then wipe cache, wipe dalvik and fix permissions. Choose reboot system and wait for android to upgrade. If it doesn't help, it shouldn't hurt anything either

you do this at your own risk

I found the solution!

I deleted my ROM. Then I re-installed it through Safestrap. Then I ran through setup again. That is it. No more trouble. It works better now than it ever did. I do not understand why this happened. My screen does not go black on calls. The problems appears to be 100% resolved.

I followed Instructions from Kebob. If you need more help, he may have a solution for you too. Good luck.

This is not only happening on 3rd party roms. I am running the OTA jelly bean leak and it is also happening on it.
