Well, just cause those numbers are different in the cpu, that doesn't answer why mr4 users for one soak and mr2 getting f another.

Your all wrong it was an issue of Microsoft software licensing terms. Older devices got 9.18.79 and newer devices got 9.20.1 and that's the only deference.the Build's had to be separated because of this.

Well still, since the MR4 changed the build to 9.16.9 and the MR2 was on 9.16.6 , it makes sense to me why there are two separate updates, because otherwise one wouldn't implement on both because the file name has to match the existing build- what doesn't make sense is why they didn't align the builds at the end of them?  They'll just have to do it again....

Microsoft? Really?

But that doesn't explain why the two otas are labeled 9.16.6 and 9.16.9 respectively which directly correlates to the two leaked fxz sets. So anyone could have been on 9.16.9, if they so choose to be, and then would(in typical Moto fashion) require either 9.18.79 or 9.21.1

How convenient it is now that VZW goes from released THIS FIRST OTA announcement:

droidrazrhd%20updated%20OTA%209201%20onl

To now THIS ONE?!

droidrazrhd%20updated%20OTA%20both.png

Note, in the latter, they've now listed BOTH updates having the EXACT SAME details? I wish they would just be honest, forthcoming and transparent with everyone so we all KNOW why this has happened and IF we should care about one version over another, rather than leaked, rumors.

I'm not sure what you're saying. You can't really Frankenstein these two updates to work regardless of what system version you're on now. It's not gonna jive.

I've heard this rumor and checked with a few others, but you guys are welcome to compare with me

Mine is the exact same as this (aside from the serial, obviously)

Maybe they want to keep the updates separate for the maxx HD and the regular HD

From my experience the updates are based on the version of software your phone was on. Originally I was on 9.16.6 and I got the 9.18 update. Then I went back and flashed the 16.9 leak and ended up getting the 20.1

im not sure what all they did with this new update . I would wait if you can till the devs or someone comes up with a rsdlite or fastboot way to apply it . From what i have read here and talked to Fran on Twitter and what i went through its a pita to get everything back if something goes wrong.

I have no idea what's going on.Last night I did the update and I had the 9.20.1 well I realized I hadn't protected my root. So I flashed back to the 9.16.6 using Matt's tool. After that I of coure rooted and protected root. Then I updated. I kept my root but now I'm on 9.18.79, LOL! Makes no dang sense at all.

I have heard this by two or three different people now... apparently Razr HDs have two different chipsets depending on production date....

Can someone confirm?

Which tool did you use? I need to flash back to see if it fixes some of my issues? I thought the new update changed the partitions. Is that going to be an issue?

Finally, got the new Baseband, but the OTA failed.  :p
