Can't reboot phone after safestrap backup restoring!

Best Answer cmh714 , 14 September 2013 - 06:34 AM

Ending up directly at the Fastboot screen generally means one of two things: you are not getting the button sequence done properly OR you had a bad flash previously.

If its the first, I cant help you :) thats just a timing issue and we have all been there

If its the second, then usually all it takes is getting something to flash properly and we usually tell people to try and flash a boot logo to clear the problem.

I can't because the only mode I can boot into is AP fastboot. I can't access safe strap or Android stock recovery to do anything.

To enter stock recovery, from the dead android, you need to press & hold both volume keys  for 2 sec & release.

Here is an alternate work around:

Rant:

This "secret" double press of the volume keys is borked on our M & is a great source of frustration.

I think we got a borked version of stock recovery & Moto does not care to fix it.

The Photon Q recovery is not borked & double key access is easy.

I think you need a restore to the ...78 xml with rsdlite.

I do have a restore thread at xda & you can get data back too.

I am sure livinginkaos or others will advise you too.
