I really hope for all of you that Moto simply made a mistake in their posting. Cause a phone that's barely a year old being stuck on an OS that came out 3 months late and is now also almost a year old.....that's really not ok.

Which is great and all, and I mean that sincerely, but, doesn't change the fact that 4.2.2 was launched by Google in February and it's still not out on the HD or M. I feel bad for those still stuck on those devices. They are great phones...I had an unlocked HD for a few months that I used to develop all kinds of tools...but kind of hindered with 4.1.2. They need to step on the ball and get it in gear on these updates.

That relationship is a complex political hot mess. Moto has been firewalled off from Google in terms of development of Android. They have a worse relationship with the Android department than other companies. And that hurts them badly. i'm watching the Moto X and new Droids very closely to see how those updates go. I see that all variants of the X got a camera update already....with one noticeable exception. My choice to leave big red has not been disappointing. LOL. Nonetheless, Moto will have a *LOT* of convincing to do to get me to buy another device. I'm very happy with what I chose this last round.

Vzw updates are terrible, but in my area they have by far the best service and as long as I have my unlimited data I'll stay with them and my X is hella sweet! I could care less about a camera update.

Yeah I'd bet it's Verizon that doesn't want these phones upgraded as a way of encouraging their customers to purchase newer phones. Same as it ever was.

It'd be better if they allowed GPE and Nexus on their network. But they only allow bloated dev edition phones. UGH.

I for one want the camera update. It currently operates like the Bionic camera did prior to it's update. It's bad enough that my bank app for mobile deposits rejects the pictures every time and that's not good. That aside, I would expect any new device to have it's hardware in working order when released and if not, fixing it should be timely, REGARDLESS of carrier input.

We don't know if we're getting an update...we're just not-not getting one. I still would wait in a very comfy chair.
