nope. I RSD'd just for testing purposes and went from 744 all the way to 173 without unrooting.You didn't unroot for the last update either?
edit: temp unrooting that is. i would just restore SU after each update

all well and good if it actually let me...Ive done this twice now.....and also just noticed after RSDing back to 744 with fastboot file I still have my accounts etc on there shouldnt it have been wiped out?

RSD does not wipe the phone. it just replaces all the system files

I only had trouble with trying to get into the motorecovery menu, don't know what buttons I was pushing to get into the menu, but I finally found it. So use to using safestrap for everything.

Okay, thanks. If that would have been included in the directions last night, I would have had an extra half hour of sleep. lol. I was pushing up volume button most of the time trying different menu options and menu would close. Then finally pushed the right button combinations. I was up to the exclamation mark few times last night, but didn't know what to do then. Finally must have pushed the right buttons.

Lol I have to step in here. For all the new guys to the site or new to hacking your phone. Please read the whole entire other post at least 5 times. Then write it down on paper so you no what to fo in your own words. Any words or terms you see that you don't understand, read threw the pages, there is a good chance thayour question was answered already. If not, Google it, you are about to do many things to your phone,so you want to no what your doing.

Sooo everything working fine here, but does a factory reset/wipe remove root? Or can I re-download the rootkeeper app and get it back? No matter how well my phone is working, I have this compulsion to start from ground zero after getting an update...

I did not unroot (just protected root with OTA rootkeeper) or do anything to disable the bootstrap prior to installing the leak. Had no issues with install and the root restored just fine.

you can do both
You can Do a data wipe/factory reset using MOTO recovery
or a internally in Privacy.
I just tested both of them for you
Checked root with root checker and Bootstrap
if that help hit like ?

With the fastboot files they will flash the 744 system over in it's entirety which includes the original kernel. My question would be the link that was provided saying you could just flash a zip to get back to 748. With the locked bootloader, do flashes change kernels? I am not a dev so I am not up to speed on that one.
