Should I get the XT1080 or get the S5?

I love the RAZR MAXX but I want to know if the S5 is a better phone performance wise, what should I do? I want to use a sphere camera but I hear that it won't work on the XT1080. I don't really care too much for the security features on the S5 but the camera on the S5 is 16MB compared to the 10MB on the RAZR MAXX. Could someone who's non bias give me some advice?

Depends on what you mean by performance. The S5 has 9 months worth of newer technology but it also has a ton of Samsung S features  crapware. Will you notice a difference when swiping homescreens or opening an app i doubt it. 

The S5 may have a slightly better camera but what are you using it for? Unless you are a professional photographer or blowing your pictures up to billboard size I doubt you will notice the difference either.

Do you have to get a phone now??

Have you looked at the HTC One (M8) that just came out??

Can you wait until the Moto X refresh this summer??

Out of the two phones that you mentioned, the HTC One (M8) and the Moto X. Which one of the three are the best? I really need a new phone now but I want one that I can root and that will continue to get updates for awhile.

Then I would go with the M8. It is already rooted, unlocked and S-off. And it's the newest. I have the HTC DNA and it's still going strong. Lots of Dev work on HTC. I'm already running an M8 Sense 6 Kitkat rom.

I'm starting to look at new phones, I have my upgrade coming up in January.  By then, the new Moto will be out.  If I'm not happy with that phone, then I will probably go with the M8.  It seems like the M8 kills both of those phones on performance (not sure about the new Moto, we'll have to see when it comes out), and Sense seems to be all the rave.   I think I'm going to dip into the Sense craze when I upgrade.

Sense has come a long way since the early days. It gets lighter with each upgrade. Blinkfeed is pretty cool. It's love or hate. But you have the option to turn it off. I actually just read an article today that was 6 things Sense does better than stock Android.

Im do for an upgrade in June and im a Motorola kind of guy, but out of all the phones i see out there the M8 has caught my eye and i hope the radios in them are as good as moto's radios cause im out in the sticks amongst the hills and trees. 

Yeah, I'd like to wait and see what Moto comes out with, before I decide.
